[00:00:00] That's one thing that Josh and I made it very keen on, especially for us, is to be a really big part of charities, raising funds, especially for like, we both believe highly in support of men's mental health, prostate cancer, stuff like that. But it's like we also did, fuck, we've done the Humane Society twice. We did, Grand Peach was with Kiss FM and Ray, Resource Assistance for Youth, so we donated $2,000 to them from the proceeds of the city.
[00:00:30] The Sales of the Sauce and Breast Cancer Fundraiser, like sweating for a cause.
[00:00:34] Sweating for a cause.
[00:00:36] Oh nice.
[00:00:37] Like being on this podcast, it makes me feel so good.
[00:00:40] Oh, I love that. Thanks.
[00:00:41] Just being able to chat.
[00:00:42] Makes me feel great.
[00:00:43] And just like, you know, maybe there's someone else who feels that same story.
[00:00:47] It's very easy to feel completely alone.
[00:00:49] Oh.
[00:00:49] It's very easy for me to feel like I'm the only one who's single dad, who's gotta work.
[00:00:55] Somebody can tell you're not alone and you're still feeling alone.
[00:00:58] Yeah.
[00:00:58] And I work way too much and I'm burnt out and I'm always working and my kids like, I wish
[00:01:04] I had more time just to like sit and just, you know, but the reality is that I don't.
[00:01:32] Might as well dive in.
[00:01:33] Welcome back everyone.
[00:01:35] Thanks for tuning in to the Quiet Riot Show and Dan's already fucking going at it.
[00:01:41] He's getting just juiced off the non-alcoholic beers.
[00:01:45] So partakes hard.
[00:01:47] We're partaking.
[00:01:47] Yes.
[00:01:49] Dan and Josh, Intergalactic Sauces.
[00:01:52] Best fucking sauce in Winnipeg for sure.
[00:01:54] Hands down.
[00:01:55] Like I've tried, I've tried a handful already and, and nothing comes close to your guys.
[00:02:00] We're all getting started.
[00:02:01] So yeah.
[00:02:02] Right.
[00:02:03] And so no, I can't wait to hear a lot about your guys' plans, but that's not going to
[00:02:08] be the main, the main part of the show.
[00:02:13] We're going to take a deep dive.
[00:02:15] You told me that it's going to be a little bit, a little bit heavier.
[00:02:18] I think it's going to be a heavy episode.
[00:02:19] But that's okay.
[00:02:19] That's what we're here for.
[00:02:20] Obviously you guys see that I'm by myself here.
[00:02:23] I don't have my cohost here, Tim.
[00:02:25] We stopped drinking on Saturday and I think he died.
[00:02:31] The disease got to him.
[00:02:32] Oh yeah.
[00:02:33] Like it was, it was fueled and just being.
[00:02:36] Yeah.
[00:02:36] Yeah.
[00:02:36] And he stopped drinking and that's it.
[00:02:38] It's just, no, he's all joking aside.
[00:02:41] He's really sick.
[00:02:42] So he said, he's never being really sick.
[00:02:44] So yeah, it's going around.
[00:02:45] So he said, he said, he's never quitting again.
[00:02:48] Cause like obviously when he's drinking, he's fine.
[00:02:50] Yeah.
[00:02:51] Well, when you're pickled, you're pickled.
[00:02:52] That's right.
[00:02:53] Yeah, exactly.
[00:02:54] Oh man.
[00:02:55] So, but as a, as a, as a regular thing, why don't we do a quick check in and then we'll
[00:03:01] just go from there.
[00:03:04] Well, let's start with you.
[00:03:11] How are you doing?
[00:03:12] I am fucking done.
[00:03:14] Yeah.
[00:03:15] Like I am just so exhausted.
[00:03:16] My, I haven't even hit Christmas yet.
[00:03:18] I, okay.
[00:03:20] Before I do my check in a full disclosure, I fucking hate Christmas because of the time
[00:03:27] leading up to Christmas.
[00:03:29] Yeah.
[00:03:29] Once Christmas hits, I'm fine.
[00:03:31] You know, have the drinks, have the food, get together with family.
[00:03:34] That's okay.
[00:03:35] Um, but yeah, anyway, so just, yeah, Christmas it's, it's nothing.
[00:03:39] I remember we talked about that last time cause we were here in February.
[00:03:44] Yes.
[00:03:44] Yeah.
[00:03:45] So we, we, we just talked about February.
[00:03:48] Yeah.
[00:03:48] The, the post Christmas and stuff.
[00:03:50] And then we talked about the pre Christmas.
[00:03:51] I remember we talked about the exact same thing.
[00:03:53] Yeah.
[00:03:53] Yeah.
[00:03:53] Yeah.
[00:03:53] Yeah.
[00:03:53] I get, I get really bitchy about Christmas anyways.
[00:03:56] Check in.
[00:03:57] So yeah, I, uh, I'm really exhausted just because work has been absolutely fucking bonkers.
[00:04:03] We were unionized and I'm part of the union.
[00:04:06] Like I was, I was a, uh, shop steward and, uh, well still am today, uh, and, uh, on the
[00:04:12] executive as well.
[00:04:13] And there's elections going on right now.
[00:04:15] And, um, it's, I, I've got one, one of the positions now going forward, but I'm actually
[00:04:22] elections are on right now as we speak until tomorrow noon.
[00:04:25] So I don't know if I'm going to be in the office or not in the office, you know, and leading
[00:04:31] up to, you know, campaigning and, and also I'm part of the communications committee.
[00:04:35] So like lots of like emails going out and like people don't know what they're doing.
[00:04:39] And like, just, I'm like, fuck, I'm done.
[00:04:42] Like I just, everything's just so up in the air.
[00:04:44] It's just crazy.
[00:04:45] And then, uh, my, my business is just really busy right now too.
[00:04:50] So like I come from, come home from a crazy day to into a crazy day and then kids activities
[00:04:55] and all that shit.
[00:04:57] I literally like, like I read something and I miss like, you know, half the words.
[00:05:01] Yeah.
[00:05:01] And it's just like, yeah, everything's just skim.
[00:05:03] So I'm like a four and you know, I've been riding up and down.
[00:05:07] If you guys listened to the previous ones, like I was super pumped.
[00:05:10] Cause like we came back from a, uh, show from Minneapolis with my kids.
[00:05:14] So I had a great time.
[00:05:15] I was fucking riding this high wave, you know, but anyway, crashing very hard.
[00:05:20] I'm one of those guys.
[00:05:21] It moves like big numbers, you know, I don't move a little bit.
[00:05:24] So I'm a four today.
[00:05:26] Yeah.
[00:05:27] Let's just, that's so, Hey, you know what?
[00:05:28] It could be worse.
[00:05:29] Yeah.
[00:05:29] I remember last time you were like a three or something like that.
[00:05:32] And so, uh, let's turn the mic to you.
[00:05:35] Uh, so I know some shit happened.
[00:05:39] Two months ago I lost my job.
[00:05:41] I was, they literally were just like, Hey, we're going to go in a different direction.
[00:05:44] Well, I just picked up, I just came to see you, picked up some sauces from you.
[00:05:49] Two months ago.
[00:05:50] It was like, yeah, it was like two or three days after that.
[00:05:53] That happened.
[00:05:54] So, uh, yeah, I was like, oh.
[00:05:56] And so I like recently, I guess over the last two months, I guess trying to realize that
[00:06:03] or understand for myself that these things happen and it's no representation of more
[00:06:13] or less if I'm a man or not because was I doing my job?
[00:06:18] Yes, absolutely.
[00:06:19] Did they want to go in a different direction?
[00:06:21] Sure.
[00:06:21] That's they're allowed to do that as a company.
[00:06:24] And so it's, for me, it was, it's trying to just battle within my own mind to tell myself
[00:06:30] I'm still good at my job.
[00:06:33] I'm still able to do these things, but it's also trying to like make time for myself now.
[00:06:42] Yeah.
[00:06:42] Something that you're not used to.
[00:06:44] No, I'm not used to doing that.
[00:06:46] I'm used to juggling 80 things at once.
[00:06:48] Yeah.
[00:06:49] And so with this.
[00:06:50] I very much get that.
[00:06:51] Yeah.
[00:06:51] And with, with that, it's now I can focus on sauces.
[00:06:55] Yeah.
[00:06:56] And that was the big thing about it.
[00:06:57] Like I remember talking to you online when I, you made a post and I'm just like, Hey man,
[00:07:02] like, you know, it sucks, but like wonder closes.
[00:07:05] Another one opens.
[00:07:06] Exactly.
[00:07:06] And I truly believe in that.
[00:07:08] And that's how I, like, I kind of went into the elections too.
[00:07:11] Well, if I lose, that means I got to now focus on other things.
[00:07:13] Right.
[00:07:13] And that's, that's what you're doing.
[00:07:15] A hundred percent.
[00:07:15] And it's like, for me, it's like, I was in a very, I'm still going into a dark place
[00:07:20] every once in a while.
[00:07:22] But like for a while, for a good month, I was, I was in a very dark place where I, every
[00:07:27] day I was like, why bother?
[00:07:30] Yeah.
[00:07:30] Why get up?
[00:07:31] Why, why push myself?
[00:07:33] Why?
[00:07:34] Well, and the dark place is always there.
[00:07:36] It never goes away.
[00:07:37] No.
[00:07:37] Yeah.
[00:07:37] But it was, it's in the, it was in the forefront of my mind.
[00:07:40] Mm-hmm.
[00:07:41] Whereas like now I'm more understanding of the situation, more accepting of what's come
[00:07:48] and gone.
[00:07:48] Yep.
[00:07:49] And I'm able to really, well, rely on him first off.
[00:07:54] Yep.
[00:07:55] And obviously my partner to build myself back up.
[00:08:00] Bart, right?
[00:08:03] Sorry.
[00:08:03] Sorry.
[00:08:04] Well, not just my dog, but like also my human partner.
[00:08:08] I got that.
[00:08:08] I got that.
[00:08:09] Yeah.
[00:08:10] I do, I do.
[00:08:12] No, he even, you know, keeps me on edge sometimes, but no, like today I give myself, I give myself
[00:08:19] a three.
[00:08:20] I've been, I've been really down lately, like especially over the last week, but overall
[00:08:24] like I give myself a four or 4.5.
[00:08:28] Okay.
[00:08:28] Like it's, it's getting better every day.
[00:08:30] Okay.
[00:08:31] It's a slow battle and, and it's, it's me against myself, but at the same time, it's
[00:08:35] the more we do with sauces, the more I have him helping me, uh, backing me and all that
[00:08:43] kind of stuff.
[00:08:43] It's, it's, it's getting better.
[00:08:45] Yeah.
[00:08:45] And so like, obviously I give a lot of thanks to you for helping with that shit.
[00:08:49] So yeah, I don't know.
[00:08:51] Every day it's getting better.
[00:08:51] And I think even closer as we get closer to the holiday season.
[00:08:56] Yeah.
[00:08:56] Yeah.
[00:08:58] Yeah.
[00:08:58] We don't have to touch on that again.
[00:09:00] If I want to see you want to, I'm good.
[00:09:02] I'm good.
[00:09:03] I'm good.
[00:09:03] But yeah, no, it's probably rather not.
[00:09:06] Yeah.
[00:09:06] Well, and like we've, we've talked about it on the show, uh, multiple times that we
[00:09:10] have to like, even though in that we're in that dark place, we have to celebrate the
[00:09:17] little things that you know, okay.
[00:09:18] Today was a shitty day.
[00:09:19] Let's hope tomorrow's a good day.
[00:09:21] And if it's just a little bit better, great.
[00:09:23] You know, did I get to the gym today?
[00:09:25] Fuck.
[00:09:26] Yeah.
[00:09:26] That's a win for me.
[00:09:26] There you go.
[00:09:27] Did I answer the emails that I wanted to do today?
[00:09:30] Perfect.
[00:09:31] Yeah.
[00:09:31] Did I miss a couple because I just didn't have the mental capacity?
[00:09:33] That's okay.
[00:09:34] Yeah.
[00:09:35] Are you going to hit them tomorrow?
[00:09:36] Yeah.
[00:09:36] Yeah.
[00:09:37] And it's, it's taking these things one step at a time and yeah, not realize it, not focusing
[00:09:43] on the fact that you fucked up or if you're, you failed.
[00:09:51] Well, I use that loosely at something.
[00:09:55] It's, it's knowing that you're better than what you think you are.
[00:10:00] We'll definitely take a deep dive on that one.
[00:10:02] Yeah.
[00:10:02] Um, Josh, how about you?
[00:10:03] What number are you today?
[00:10:06] Yeah.
[00:10:07] Who knows?
[00:10:07] A four, probably a three, some again, somewhere in there and it's, and it's the, you know,
[00:10:13] before he was like, Oh, I quit my job to do this full time.
[00:10:17] Yeah.
[00:10:20] Which was great because if we're not going to do this and take it seriously, then there's
[00:10:25] no time, no point investing your time.
[00:10:28] Not, not why bother, but more so like we may as well.
[00:10:32] Right.
[00:10:32] So, but I've got, I've got two kids that I've got to keep alive and there's just never ending
[00:10:39] pressures from that.
[00:10:40] So it was like, let's do it.
[00:10:42] Right.
[00:10:42] Let's dive in.
[00:10:43] And then his thing happened and both of us were like, well, that's just more reason
[00:10:47] to sign.
[00:10:49] Yeah.
[00:10:49] So I, you know, I'm working part time, but most of my, my and our focus is on the sauce
[00:10:55] and like, just that I wake up every day, like, ah, what the, you know, like bills are
[00:11:02] coming in and well, cause well, that's, that's the joy of owning a business.
[00:11:06] Right.
[00:11:07] And I'm trying to like, you're, you're gonna, you're trying to do your best and like, you
[00:11:12] never know what curve ball comes your way and it could fucking.
[00:11:15] And you got to justify it to everybody.
[00:11:18] I guess that like the choice I've made is worthwhile and you got to work super hard for it.
[00:11:22] Oh yeah.
[00:11:22] You got to make sure.
[00:11:23] It's not a nine to five job.
[00:11:25] It's not.
[00:11:25] It's all the time.
[00:11:26] Doesn't stop job.
[00:11:27] And with that comes a lot of like, call them sacrifices or whatever, but like we've
[00:11:33] shifted our entire lives to focus on one thing.
[00:11:39] And if we don't do it, then it's only on like the pressure is only on ourselves.
[00:11:44] Yeah.
[00:11:45] So with every like wind that we have or everything that happens, it's good.
[00:11:49] There's like 10 in the back of my mind, at least it's like, yeah.
[00:11:54] Chewing at me.
[00:11:54] Like that was cool.
[00:11:55] But here's all this other, like, it just, it doesn't.
[00:11:58] This is where you need to improve and you're trying to figure out how to do it.
[00:12:01] And yeah.
[00:12:02] How can you do better?
[00:12:03] How can you better, do better, do better, do better, do better, do better.
[00:12:05] How are you supposed to relax?
[00:12:07] Like I, how are you supposed to enjoy relaxing when it's like, there's something that's gotta
[00:12:11] be done right now.
[00:12:12] Don't you just hate, like, it's not gonna be done for us.
[00:12:14] We have to be the ones that are just making it.
[00:12:17] Yeah.
[00:12:18] No one's gonna do it for you.
[00:12:19] Yeah.
[00:12:20] But yeah, the other day, somebody just, one of my buddies told me, he's like, oh yeah,
[00:12:23] like it was like 7 PM and like, ah, we just finished watching a couple of shows.
[00:12:26] I'm like, how the fuck do you have time to watch shows?
[00:12:28] You know?
[00:12:28] Like, it's.
[00:12:29] I literally put on Simpsons and like, cause I just don't have the attention span.
[00:12:33] Yeah.
[00:12:33] Like I don't have the mental capacity to just watch a new show.
[00:12:36] Like start a new video game.
[00:12:37] Yeah.
[00:12:37] Right.
[00:12:38] Yeah.
[00:12:39] That's not, yeah.
[00:12:39] That's my other coworker.
[00:12:41] Like, oh yeah, there's new games coming.
[00:12:42] I'm like, I didn't catch the 20 games that came out before that.
[00:12:46] You know?
[00:12:46] Like, I have no idea.
[00:12:48] Like I'm jealous, but it's just, yeah, it's, we, we, we take our time right now and,
[00:12:53] and, and invest that time into our business and ourselves.
[00:12:56] Right.
[00:12:57] I don't want anyone.
[00:12:59] Like today at work.
[00:13:00] So I was, someone was like, do you have your kids tonight?
[00:13:03] And I was like, no, but I've got a meeting and then I've got this podcast.
[00:13:05] And then tomorrow is a market and another meeting and then, and then batching.
[00:13:10] Like we're always, and they're like, you should take some time just to like relax.
[00:13:14] And I'm like, I don't look at my calendar.
[00:13:18] I don't know how to do that.
[00:13:19] But I also feel like if, if I, if I relax, then it's, it gets to you.
[00:13:25] Right.
[00:13:25] So you have to just keep working, but it makes things suffer sometimes because you're just
[00:13:31] always on and you're trying to explain to people, but it's like, I'm doing this because
[00:13:36] I do want to chime in though.
[00:13:38] I will say that you have a lot more, like since I was let go and like you, you still
[00:13:43] are working part time, like, and you have your kids, like you do take on a lot more responsibilities
[00:13:47] than I do.
[00:13:48] And I do understand that.
[00:13:50] I do understand that.
[00:13:51] But that's, but also that's, but that's how, that's why this works because you were
[00:13:57] answering emails all day and I'm like yesterday, your emails all day.
[00:14:01] And then I'm, I'm working and then I'm picking up the kids, going to gymnastics, getting them
[00:14:04] fed, doing lunches, doing dinner, all that shit.
[00:14:06] Right.
[00:14:07] Like just cause I have to.
[00:14:10] Yeah.
[00:14:10] Cause we have to do that stuff.
[00:14:12] And then we're working like, what's our week look like, right?
[00:14:14] Well, we got this to do this to do this to do.
[00:14:16] And then the weekend we're doing this and the kids are coming with us for this one.
[00:14:19] And then like, it's just, and then people tell you like, oh, you should just like take
[00:14:25] some time.
[00:14:26] I'm going to burn out.
[00:14:26] And it's like, well, I don't have that option because if, if I, if we slack on this, then
[00:14:31] it's just going to continue to be like, and then I'll wake up one day and regret it.
[00:14:36] Right.
[00:14:36] Well, and like, just, I can picture from talking to Tim, like he has a business partner, you
[00:14:42] know, like I don't have that, that partner business partner.
[00:14:46] So yeah, like, like I'm relying on myself to remember and I'm just like, fuck.
[00:14:51] So I started putting everything in the calendar.
[00:14:53] Right.
[00:14:53] Um, I, uh, also if you were to take that break, let's put quotations break because, uh, you
[00:15:03] know, somebody is telling you, oh, you need to relax.
[00:15:06] Are you going to be able to relax?
[00:15:07] No.
[00:15:08] And then, so now you wasted time and that's not a quality time spent on yourself as a
[00:15:14] business owner.
[00:15:15] Right.
[00:15:15] And so like, even, even when I was, uh, managing kitchens is that one big thing that's like
[00:15:21] you need, when you're out of, when you're out of the kitchen, you can't be working.
[00:15:26] Yeah.
[00:15:27] Stop working.
[00:15:27] Don't get your phone, all that kind of stuff.
[00:15:29] But at the same time I was running a business for myself.
[00:15:32] Right.
[00:15:33] Well with Josh, but like, and so like, no matter what I was working or I'm still, oh, I guess
[00:15:39] I'm still doing that.
[00:15:40] Every time I wake up, I check out our emails.
[00:15:42] Yeah.
[00:15:42] I go through this.
[00:15:43] I send off emails.
[00:15:44] I'm constantly doing things on social media, trying to communicate.
[00:15:48] Both of us.
[00:15:49] We're both like in group chats with ourselves and with like five other different facets
[00:15:54] of just every day there's something and trying to explain sometimes that there is no off button
[00:16:03] when it's our choice.
[00:16:06] Right.
[00:16:06] Like when, when I was a kitchen manager, my phone would go off when I was on a day off
[00:16:11] and then I would get shit for answering that message.
[00:16:14] And I'm like, well, I, I kind of have to answer this, put this fire out.
[00:16:20] So I'm still doing my job.
[00:16:22] But I guess, but I guess it got to the point where, and I know you know this where it's
[00:16:25] like, okay, but now you're taking my entire life.
[00:16:29] Like I'm not in the building right now.
[00:16:30] Is it on fire?
[00:16:32] No.
[00:16:32] Then figure it out.
[00:16:33] Right.
[00:16:33] Like, so that was the trade off for me.
[00:16:35] It was like, I don't want to have to just always be on call for someone else.
[00:16:39] Yeah.
[00:16:40] I want to be on call for me.
[00:16:42] That's right.
[00:16:42] And Dan and this.
[00:16:44] Yeah.
[00:16:44] When like, when we're talking at 11 o'clock at night, it's because we need to figure something
[00:16:50] out or plan something.
[00:16:51] Yeah.
[00:16:51] So that choice is like, I'll be like, I'm too stoned for this, but, but we'll figure
[00:16:57] it out.
[00:16:57] Right.
[00:16:58] Like, but it's like, at least, you know, you can force yourself to, but like, but that's
[00:17:02] the thing.
[00:17:03] Cause like you just, it's for us.
[00:17:06] Yeah.
[00:17:06] And not having to do it for someone else obviously takes the, takes the pressure off.
[00:17:12] Yeah.
[00:17:13] And that's, that's the trade off.
[00:17:14] And that's a hundred percent.
[00:17:15] And that was the big thing is like, when we did agree that Josh would be going to a
[00:17:21] part-time position with whatever he decided to move on to and go into a full-time position.
[00:17:27] You can't say it.
[00:17:27] He works at Home Depot.
[00:17:28] He wears it.
[00:17:30] I wish he worked at Home Depot.
[00:17:31] Yeah.
[00:17:32] They got really cool vests.
[00:17:33] They got sick buckets.
[00:17:36] Oh yeah.
[00:17:37] You get deals with, but yeah, you can use buckets, right?
[00:17:39] Okay.
[00:17:39] But what's where?
[00:17:41] That's the cord, right?
[00:17:43] But when you go to Home Depot, you go straight to like the, the, the section with all the
[00:17:47] lights.
[00:17:47] Cause it's like, like a moth to a flame.
[00:17:49] You're like, look at all these.
[00:17:50] I check out the lawn stuff.
[00:17:51] I actually never go to the lights.
[00:17:53] I always get drawn.
[00:17:55] Unless I need a light.
[00:17:55] The lawn, the lawn stuff's kind of neat too though.
[00:17:57] The lawn care stuff.
[00:17:58] I never, I don't have a lawn.
[00:17:59] You don't have a lawn.
[00:18:00] No, I have an apartment, but like.
[00:18:02] Yeah.
[00:18:03] Well, I mean.
[00:18:04] The dream.
[00:18:05] It's just going in there like, one day you'll be mine.
[00:18:09] Dan, feel free to come mow the lawn anytime you want in my house.
[00:18:12] Cause I fucking hate doing it.
[00:18:13] Dude, I used to, I used to have a lawn and that used to be my like, soulless.
[00:18:18] Oh really?
[00:18:19] Okay.
[00:18:19] You guys are welcome anytime in the summer.
[00:18:21] That was, in that situation, that was one of those.
[00:18:25] When I had my, when I had a house that had a lawn, I was like, I get to like, headphones
[00:18:30] on, do something.
[00:18:31] No one can bother me cause I'm doing this.
[00:18:34] Just do extra, extra slow.
[00:18:36] Totally.
[00:18:36] Like do a double pass, make a cool pass.
[00:18:38] Yeah.
[00:18:39] Yeah.
[00:18:39] Even when I had a house that.
[00:18:40] I make the wife do it.
[00:18:41] There was no lawn.
[00:18:42] The thing was just.
[00:18:43] Yeah.
[00:18:44] Yeah.
[00:18:44] You didn't have a lawn.
[00:18:45] Yeah.
[00:18:45] I think it was trash.
[00:18:48] Okay.
[00:18:49] So before we continue, I think we need to dive into some, some spiciness.
[00:18:55] Yeah.
[00:18:55] Let's get the ball rolling here.
[00:18:57] So I do have some, some of my own and something that was handed down to me from some people.
[00:19:04] Ooh.
[00:19:05] These are, these, these are all homemade.
[00:19:07] Yeah.
[00:19:08] Let's hit it.
[00:19:08] Yeah.
[00:19:08] Okay.
[00:19:09] What do you guys want to try?
[00:19:10] Do you guys want to try it?
[00:19:10] Well, let's start from what you think is spicy to not, or not spicy to spicy.
[00:19:13] So this one I haven't tried.
[00:19:15] These are actual, looks like jalapenos.
[00:19:18] I think they're fermented.
[00:19:19] Yeah.
[00:19:20] I don't know.
[00:19:20] I was, I was, it was just given to me.
[00:19:22] I was like, all right, I'll wait until today.
[00:19:24] And I got these, I got these on Halloween.
[00:19:27] I got drunk with some neighbors and they're like, Hey, you want them?
[00:19:29] I'm like, fuck yeah.
[00:19:29] I thought you were going to say your kids were trick or treating and someone just gave
[00:19:32] them.
[00:19:32] Give you a charm.
[00:19:34] Yeah.
[00:19:34] No, no, no.
[00:19:36] Trick or treat.
[00:19:36] Here you go.
[00:19:37] Boom.
[00:19:38] My sauce is very, it's quite mild, but it has a decent kick.
[00:19:43] Well you were showing me videos of you, you making it.
[00:19:45] I was like, that looks so cute.
[00:19:46] So this was the first time I fermented peppers and they were fermenting for about 10 days
[00:19:52] ish, 10, 11, something like that.
[00:19:55] And so there's habanero, jalapenos, banana peppers, and Thai chilies.
[00:20:00] And then I added obviously garlic, onions, carrots, and peaches.
[00:20:08] Ooh, you threw some peaches in there.
[00:20:09] Yeah, threw some peaches.
[00:20:10] Because you did peaches last time, right?
[00:20:12] I had some peaches and some lemon one.
[00:20:14] Yeah.
[00:20:14] And then, so this one here is spicy jelly.
[00:20:20] I don't know what peppers there are made, but this is made by a guy that you guys know
[00:20:24] I believe.
[00:20:25] Who's that?
[00:20:26] We'll talk about it later.
[00:20:27] All right.
[00:20:28] I'm going to try it.
[00:20:28] I'm confused about who the fuck we both know.
[00:20:31] Well, let's try it.
[00:20:32] Let's try this one.
[00:20:33] Yeah.
[00:20:34] If it's not too frozen.
[00:20:35] It's fine.
[00:20:38] We can hit it.
[00:20:39] Oh yeah.
[00:20:43] Like that one, you can take a spoonful.
[00:20:45] They're not, it's not very hot.
[00:20:46] So.
[00:20:48] That's what you get.
[00:20:49] You don't have a, you don't have any control about how much I give you.
[00:20:53] Yeah.
[00:20:54] Ooh, though.
[00:20:55] Smells nice.
[00:20:55] That smells really, really nice.
[00:20:57] I took a thumbs ahead of this.
[00:20:59] I did not.
[00:21:00] I ate those.
[00:21:01] So my tummy should be okay.
[00:21:02] All right.
[00:21:03] Cheers guys.
[00:21:04] Cheers.
[00:21:05] Clink.
[00:21:11] I like that flavor.
[00:21:12] Like it's not hot, hot, but like when I tried it, when I blended everything.
[00:21:18] Well, it's got a good numminess though.
[00:21:19] And the first thing was, I was like, I need some wings, man.
[00:21:21] I need to.
[00:21:22] That's that Thai chili.
[00:21:22] Yeah.
[00:21:23] That's the Thai chilies right there.
[00:21:24] They can get that numminess.
[00:21:25] And then it comes down to the throat a little bit.
[00:21:27] Yeah.
[00:21:28] I'm just getting that right now.
[00:21:29] That's the, that's the Habs.
[00:21:31] And then, yeah.
[00:21:32] Cause that banana pepper is all up here.
[00:21:34] And then you get the Thai chili in a little bit of the numminess going across.
[00:21:37] Yeah.
[00:21:38] But that's really nice flavor.
[00:21:40] Right?
[00:21:41] Like it's, it's, it's nothing too crazy.
[00:21:44] I think lots of flavor and like I fucking pour it on sandwiches.
[00:21:48] Like yesterday I made myself like a chicken finger sandwich.
[00:21:51] I was just gonna, I was just gonna kind of, you know, run it along the channels and I'm
[00:21:56] like, ah, well, you know, that's fine.
[00:21:58] Guess I'm eating this now.
[00:21:59] He had me at chicken finger sandwich.
[00:22:01] Oh yeah.
[00:22:01] He had me at chicken finger.
[00:22:02] Chicken finger sandwich.
[00:22:04] Mayo, chicken fingers, and cheese, and then hot sauce.
[00:22:07] That's all you need.
[00:22:07] That's all you need.
[00:22:08] Yeah.
[00:22:08] Perfect.
[00:22:09] Oh, and Kinder's hot, hot honey barbecue sauce.
[00:22:14] Oh, that's a good one.
[00:22:15] From the States.
[00:22:16] I love the States.
[00:22:16] You have literally like chicken finger, mayonnaise, processed cheese.
[00:22:20] Yeah.
[00:22:20] I didn't have processed cheese, so I used laughing cow on the other side of the toast.
[00:22:25] Oh wow.
[00:22:26] Ooh, ritzy.
[00:22:26] That's really good, yeah.
[00:22:27] That's fancy.
[00:22:31] That's a really good flavor.
[00:22:32] I like that a lot.
[00:22:32] Yeah?
[00:22:33] Okay.
[00:22:33] Well, you guys have a jar waiting for you guys.
[00:22:35] Ooh, fuck yeah.
[00:22:36] That's really nice.
[00:22:37] Very nice.
[00:22:37] I'll fuck with that.
[00:22:38] Well, I'll, I'm proud of myself now.
[00:22:41] Your batches are getting better and better.
[00:22:42] Yeah.
[00:22:44] When I decide to do them.
[00:22:45] Yeah.
[00:22:46] Yeah, so.
[00:22:47] I think you gave me a fresh bottle last time.
[00:22:50] Yeah.
[00:22:51] Yeah, that was the peach and lemon one, I think.
[00:22:54] Yeah.
[00:22:55] This one, I like this one a lot.
[00:22:57] Yeah, this one too.
[00:22:57] It's very, it's very-
[00:22:58] That fermentation really helped bring the flavor out from the peppers, I think.
[00:23:03] That's the nose thing.
[00:23:04] The, uh, oh, spices.
[00:23:11] Spices.
[00:23:12] Spices.
[00:23:13] Spices.
[00:23:14] Spices.
[00:23:14] Yeah, no, that's, I'm, I'm kind of happy that how it turned out because not a lot of
[00:23:19] people like hot, hot things, right?
[00:23:21] Yeah.
[00:23:21] And then this is something that you can actually give to people and be like, hey, try my sauce,
[00:23:25] you know.
[00:23:25] Even for us, like the middle of the road in mild, they're our most popular.
[00:23:28] Well, that and the sauce.
[00:23:29] Well, yes, but we're also finding lately that we were in Morden for three days at the
[00:23:35] Corn and Apple this past August.
[00:23:39] We didn't know what to expect.
[00:23:41] Yeah.
[00:23:41] Like, what to bring out.
[00:23:43] Like, is it going to be the mild stuff that's popular?
[00:23:46] Is it going to be the mid range?
[00:23:47] Will it be the hot?
[00:23:47] It's like, what do we, who knows, right?
[00:23:49] So we brought out more like low end and mid range stuff and a little bit of the hot
[00:23:54] end stuff.
[00:23:56] It got to the point, we were there three days.
[00:23:58] It got to the point by like midway through the first day where we were starting to like
[00:24:01] joke about like, we should be keeping a tally because every time someone come up to the booth,
[00:24:06] they'd be like, what's the hottest thing you got?
[00:24:07] Yeah.
[00:24:08] That was the first question.
[00:24:10] We're like this, you know, friendship and all heck.
[00:24:13] And then down from there.
[00:24:14] And we sold out of that stuff.
[00:24:16] Right away.
[00:24:17] Okay.
[00:24:17] Yeah.
[00:24:18] There are crazy guys like us that they just give me the hottest thing.
[00:24:22] No, but it's, it's, it's the fact that like the, the Mexican Mennonites.
[00:24:25] Oh, okay.
[00:24:26] But it's even, we didn't even factor that in.
[00:24:28] Like they're looking for that spice.
[00:24:31] They're looking for the hot stuff.
[00:24:33] So it's very cool.
[00:24:34] Like just to like light people up with like the hot stuff.
[00:24:36] But even then, since then, like every market we do, everyone's always like, what's the
[00:24:40] hottest thing you have?
[00:24:42] And so we'll give them friends.
[00:24:43] If that's what they're asking, here's friendship.
[00:24:45] And it's either they're like, that's nice.
[00:24:47] It's hot, but it's okay.
[00:24:48] And they're totally fine.
[00:24:49] Or they want more or the running off to get.
[00:24:51] Like milk from the pharmacy and coming back and like laying on the floor.
[00:24:55] Yeah.
[00:24:56] And like, we never know.
[00:24:57] You can't tell.
[00:24:58] Like what people's color, what they're going to be into.
[00:25:01] But the people who like hot stuff, they're like, that's really tasty.
[00:25:06] And it, but they, you know, and they'll always say like, if this was any hotter, if this
[00:25:12] was like, you know, extra.
[00:25:14] A lot of comparisons to the bomb.
[00:25:16] Yeah.
[00:25:16] But it's always, well, the bomb's hot, but doesn't taste like much.
[00:25:19] And they're like, this is really nice because it's hot, but it still has flavor to it.
[00:25:23] Exactly.
[00:25:23] Yeah.
[00:25:24] Like I've, I, I, I, I like trying like crazy hot sauces, but I've now over the time, I'm
[00:25:31] like, okay, I want that flavor.
[00:25:33] If it doesn't have the flavor.
[00:25:34] It's gotta have the flavor.
[00:25:35] Yeah.
[00:25:35] There's a few sauces I bought and I was like, okay, it was excited to try it.
[00:25:39] And I was just like, no.
[00:25:41] And I just, I either throw it in the chili or whatever, you know, just to get that heat,
[00:25:45] but like, there's not much flavor to it.
[00:25:47] So.
[00:25:48] Um, okay.
[00:25:50] So let's, let's, let's go back to you.
[00:25:53] Um, so obviously, uh, kind of losing your job came at a surprise to you.
[00:26:01] It sounded like it.
[00:26:01] Oh yeah, absolutely.
[00:26:03] And, uh, right now I think, honestly, I think that's a good thing that happened to
[00:26:08] you because you guys have taken your company to the next level already.
[00:26:13] I've seen your, your guys' social videos are fucking awesome, by the way.
[00:26:17] Like really good.
[00:26:18] You guys are doing a really good job.
[00:26:19] Uh, but you know, that period from you finding out that you're, you don't have a job anymore
[00:26:25] and what to do or what knowing what you want to be doing, what happened in that period.
[00:26:32] Um, honestly, a lot of self-loathing, a lot of, uh, self-blame, a lot of thinking that
[00:26:41] I'm not good enough, uh, because it was so unexpected and there was little to no reason
[00:26:49] other than them saying they want to move in a different direction.
[00:26:54] Very vague explanation, right?
[00:26:57] Uh, so for me, it was, it was a lot of, I was very depressed.
[00:27:00] I was, I was just a lot of binge drinking and just feeling bad about myself.
[00:27:09] Yeah.
[00:27:10] Obviously I had my partner who is super supportive.
[00:27:13] Jess is awesome.
[00:27:14] Uh, like without her there, I'd obviously still be probably in that pit of despair.
[00:27:21] Um, so there, they've been a huge support with regards to that, but, um, it's been a lot
[00:27:27] of soul searching and, and really understanding that it's, it's not my fault.
[00:27:35] Yeah.
[00:27:36] It's, it's, it's a company.
[00:27:39] Companies are allowed to.
[00:27:40] The food you were putting out was great.
[00:27:42] So.
[00:27:43] Exactly.
[00:27:43] Yeah.
[00:27:43] The company, companies are allowed to make the decisions based on whatever.
[00:27:46] I was like, oh, without cause.
[00:27:48] So it's like.
[00:27:50] Do you think it had anything to do with the fact that you had the sauces?
[00:27:54] I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna beat around the bush.
[00:27:56] Absolutely.
[00:27:56] Yeah.
[00:27:57] Absolutely.
[00:27:58] And, and like they know that them letting me go was kind of a kick in the ass for myself.
[00:28:06] Yeah.
[00:28:06] To be like, fucking do it, man.
[00:28:08] Yeah.
[00:28:08] And they, and they still support.
[00:28:10] Yep.
[00:28:11] Oh yeah.
[00:28:11] They absolutely still support what we're doing.
[00:28:13] Like.
[00:28:13] Oh, that's good.
[00:28:14] You know, I think, I think.
[00:28:14] There's no hard feelings.
[00:28:16] No, absolutely not.
[00:28:17] Absolutely not.
[00:28:24] What's going on?
[00:28:24] And if we can like.
[00:28:26] Help.
[00:28:27] Yeah.
[00:28:27] Push you and.
[00:28:28] You move on.
[00:28:29] We'll move on.
[00:28:30] Exactly.
[00:28:31] There's no hard feelings.
[00:28:33] Okay.
[00:28:33] Between myself and the company.
[00:28:35] I, I still respect them.
[00:28:36] I still support them.
[00:28:37] Was that clear at the time for you?
[00:28:40] Yeah.
[00:28:40] Yeah.
[00:28:41] A hundred percent.
[00:28:41] A hundred percent.
[00:28:42] They, there was no hidden curtain.
[00:28:45] Yeah.
[00:28:45] That they were hiding behind.
[00:28:46] There was nothing like that.
[00:28:48] They were very open about, about the support and all that kind of stuff.
[00:28:53] Yeah.
[00:28:54] And honestly, actually saying like, we want this to be, they're kicking the ass.
[00:28:58] Yeah.
[00:28:59] To make shit happen.
[00:29:00] And, and I appreciate it.
[00:29:02] And I'm, I'm grateful for that.
[00:29:04] And looking back now and over the last two months, yeah, it's been mentally taxing, but
[00:29:10] at the same time, I've been able to do things with this company that I wouldn't have
[00:29:17] been able to do before.
[00:29:18] Mm hmm.
[00:29:18] Yeah.
[00:29:19] I have the time now.
[00:29:20] I have the focus.
[00:29:21] I have the energy.
[00:29:23] Yeah.
[00:29:24] I'm not babysitting 15 staff.
[00:29:26] Yeah.
[00:29:26] 15, 20 staff.
[00:29:27] Yeah.
[00:29:27] And making sure.
[00:29:28] Yeah.
[00:29:29] Yeah.
[00:29:30] Even when I, when I quit the job that I was managing to do this, the staff there knew
[00:29:38] what I was doing with this, like with sauces, like, cause I would talk about it.
[00:29:42] Right.
[00:29:42] And I would go from a nine hour day straight into another.
[00:29:48] Whatever hours.
[00:29:49] Yeah.
[00:29:49] Yeah.
[00:29:50] Right.
[00:29:50] And, and same thing all, like just all the time from one to the other and coming to work
[00:29:56] tired.
[00:29:56] And they're like, Oh, of course you're tired.
[00:29:58] Right.
[00:29:58] And so when I put my notice, like I left when I put my notice in and I explained why no
[00:30:04] one was surprised and everyone was like, makes sense.
[00:30:09] Yeah.
[00:30:10] Yeah.
[00:30:10] Go in.
[00:30:10] Like just.
[00:30:11] Yeah.
[00:30:12] But I think that that's, you made that decision, right?
[00:30:14] For you.
[00:30:15] Yeah.
[00:30:15] So you were mentally preparing yourself.
[00:30:18] No, I get it.
[00:30:18] Which is, it's, it's nice to have.
[00:30:21] And I think you, you deep down probably knew that at some point you're going to have
[00:30:26] to leave.
[00:30:27] At some point I would have to make a choice.
[00:30:28] Make a choice.
[00:30:28] Absolutely.
[00:30:29] Absolutely.
[00:30:30] And, and like, I still, I'm still tight with all the staff that work there.
[00:30:34] All the staff who are still there, still talk to me, still treat me as if I'm their
[00:30:39] superior.
[00:30:40] Yeah.
[00:30:41] But you still had that in the back of your mind.
[00:30:44] Yeah, of course.
[00:30:44] It's like, I know I need to make a choice soon.
[00:30:47] Yeah.
[00:30:47] Obviously I was wanting to do it on my own.
[00:30:49] Yeah.
[00:30:50] Sure.
[00:30:50] Who isn't like, yeah.
[00:30:52] If he would have been let go, he's been let go of jobs before.
[00:30:55] So have I, but like, it's, it's different and you can do it on your own terms.
[00:30:59] Yeah.
[00:31:00] Whereas like this one was like, yep.
[00:31:02] Fuck you.
[00:31:03] Yeah.
[00:31:03] Yeah.
[00:31:05] There was a job that I was let go from and it was a job that I was,
[00:31:10] ready to like move on from because it just wasn't, it doesn't matter where, like it
[00:31:16] doesn't, when you're working all the time running a kitchen, you're in charge of so many
[00:31:23] things and the pressure never ends and all the minutiae of all the staff and just like,
[00:31:28] it's just, it's never fucking ending.
[00:31:32] Yeah.
[00:31:33] And you get to a point where you're like, I would go, I would come home.
[00:31:36] I think I talked about this back in February with you.
[00:31:38] It was like, I would come home and be like, fuck.
[00:31:40] And just shut down.
[00:31:41] And my kids are like, they need stuff.
[00:31:43] And it's like, I don't have anything left in me.
[00:31:46] So I was on my way out mentally, but then I got fired.
[00:31:48] So when you get fired, you're like, ah.
[00:31:50] Yeah.
[00:31:51] It, it hurts.
[00:31:52] Fuck.
[00:31:52] It hurts.
[00:31:53] Yeah.
[00:31:53] Even though I, you know, even though it's like.
[00:31:56] Even though you're like, fuck this.
[00:31:58] But I think in the two.
[00:31:59] I want it still.
[00:32:00] What the fuck?
[00:32:00] Yeah.
[00:32:01] But in the two months since we've done.
[00:32:05] So much.
[00:32:06] So much.
[00:32:06] You guys have like, it's visible.
[00:32:10] Yeah.
[00:32:11] Perfect use of that time.
[00:32:13] And that, yeah.
[00:32:14] And we're only going to make even more use of the time that we have because we're able
[00:32:18] to focus.
[00:32:18] We're able to like dial ourselves in.
[00:32:21] We're able to like put the blinders on and make this shit happen.
[00:32:27] All right.
[00:32:28] I'm opening this gap.
[00:32:29] Yeah.
[00:32:30] If I can.
[00:32:30] I'm still nummy from the, from yours.
[00:32:32] A little bit.
[00:32:33] Hey, yeah.
[00:32:33] Same.
[00:32:33] On the gums.
[00:32:34] Yeah.
[00:32:34] Yeah.
[00:32:36] Little nummies on the gummies.
[00:32:38] You're welcome.
[00:32:39] Is that appropriate?
[00:32:42] That was a, that was a tasty sauce.
[00:32:44] Yeah.
[00:32:44] I'm feeling it still.
[00:32:45] Yeah.
[00:32:45] Yeah.
[00:32:47] I'm just going to use the other end of the spoon and just have a jalapeno.
[00:32:52] A jalapeno.
[00:32:53] A jalapeno.
[00:32:53] Jalapeno.
[00:32:58] Oh.
[00:32:59] Oh.
[00:33:00] That's really nice.
[00:33:02] Mmm.
[00:33:03] Oh, that's light.
[00:33:05] Oh, that's like, that jar is going to be gone today.
[00:33:09] Puree that.
[00:33:11] Mmm.
[00:33:11] Oh.
[00:33:12] Oh, that's very sweet.
[00:33:13] Make that into a spread.
[00:33:14] Yeah.
[00:33:15] Very sweet.
[00:33:16] Nice.
[00:33:16] Oh yeah.
[00:33:17] Mmm.
[00:33:17] It's coming in.
[00:33:20] But yeah.
[00:33:20] I think yours was hotter.
[00:33:22] It was hotter.
[00:33:23] Oh yeah, yeah.
[00:33:23] But like they, they first, I only tasted the sweetness and the peppers and now that the
[00:33:28] heat comes in from it.
[00:33:29] But yeah.
[00:33:30] It's not going to be.
[00:33:30] Yeah.
[00:33:31] Josh, um, so since you were here last time, many things happened, but I know there was
[00:33:37] one event that was really tough on you.
[00:33:41] And I kind of, if you don't want to unwrap that, we don't have to, but, um, I've talked
[00:33:48] about it on our show as well.
[00:33:50] Um, Scotty.
[00:33:51] Um, Scotty.
[00:33:52] Oh, Scotty.
[00:33:53] That was, I know, I know you've.
[00:33:54] Oh boy.
[00:33:55] Okay.
[00:33:56] Okay.
[00:33:57] No, it's okay.
[00:33:57] I'm sorry to drop it on you.
[00:33:59] I knew that was going to come out.
[00:34:00] That's fine.
[00:34:00] It's been long enough.
[00:34:01] Um.
[00:34:02] Yeah.
[00:34:02] I figured that it may be, may be okay.
[00:34:05] And we don't have to go long, but so I didn't, I knew Scott, but I didn't know him on the
[00:34:13] same level as you did.
[00:34:14] That one fucked me up.
[00:34:16] Yeah.
[00:34:16] Like I knew Scott for years.
[00:34:20] I probably, I think I met him if I was to guess 2018.
[00:34:28] Okay.
[00:34:29] Give or take.
[00:34:29] And through circumstances, through people, when I met him and Tanner, they were fighting
[00:34:37] their battles, their demons.
[00:34:41] I stayed, I stayed close with, with them.
[00:34:44] And then I moved into the building that they were caretakers at.
[00:34:49] And for the better part of just about two years, Scott was the guy who, if I was having
[00:34:55] a shit fuck day, I could call him and be like, smoke.
[00:35:00] And he'd be like, yep.
[00:35:01] And we'd go sit on the front step.
[00:35:03] Yeah.
[00:35:04] And we would just like have a beer, have a smoke.
[00:35:06] I could unload to him.
[00:35:08] And vice versa.
[00:35:09] If he was having a shit day, he would message me derp.
[00:35:11] And I'd be like, yep.
[00:35:12] And I, and we would just every day.
[00:35:16] And the night, the night that it happened was a Saturday.
[00:35:24] I had no kids with me.
[00:35:26] Like it was an off weekend.
[00:35:28] No gig should have been at home.
[00:35:31] I should have just been in my apartment on my couch there.
[00:35:37] Yeah.
[00:35:39] Yeah.
[00:35:39] Got a call that afternoon.
[00:35:41] Last minute in the group chat.
[00:35:43] Hey, band canceled.
[00:35:45] Is everyone available?
[00:35:46] We're all available.
[00:35:48] So I get, I get home from work, have a drink with Scott on the steps, have a smoke, chat a bit.
[00:35:55] I got a gig.
[00:35:56] All right.
[00:35:57] Sounds good, brother.
[00:35:59] I go upstairs.
[00:35:59] I get my stuff.
[00:36:00] I'm loading out.
[00:36:01] Oh, I'll get the door for you.
[00:36:02] He does this thing, you know.
[00:36:03] Yeah.
[00:36:05] Opens the front door for me.
[00:36:06] Says, okay, I'll have a great gig.
[00:36:08] See you later.
[00:36:09] Like, yep.
[00:36:10] Love you.
[00:36:10] Love you.
[00:36:11] Off I go.
[00:36:12] I come home from the gig.
[00:36:16] Normally he's out.
[00:36:16] When I get home at two in the morning, he would be up or outside or just like, there'd be some sort of like, cause it was always like text me when you get home sort of thing.
[00:36:24] Cause we're, we're a floor apart.
[00:36:26] Yeah.
[00:36:26] No message that night.
[00:36:29] Next morning I get the worst fucking phone call.
[00:36:33] Right.
[00:36:34] Like that, that, that that's yeah.
[00:36:36] Yeah.
[00:36:37] And it was in, I was there, I was upstairs.
[00:36:41] I should have been home.
[00:36:42] I, but I could not have, you know what I mean?
[00:36:46] Like, but for months I was like, if I had just been home, if I hadn't taken that gig, if I was around.
[00:36:54] Yeah.
[00:36:55] I could have been.
[00:36:56] Prevented.
[00:36:57] There, you know, I, you know, just you run through all that shit in your head, but I couldn't have.
[00:37:03] Yeah.
[00:37:03] Maybe I could have put it off for a day or two.
[00:37:05] Yeah.
[00:37:06] But, but he was one of those people who had such a hard life.
[00:37:14] Like the stories he like, it all kind of makes sense in my head now because leading up to that day, he was telling me more stuff.
[00:37:23] Mm-hmm.
[00:37:23] Digging deeper into his past, giving me like details about things.
[00:37:27] Unloading.
[00:37:28] Just, you know, just, and I couldn't have done anything.
[00:37:39] No one could have.
[00:37:40] Right.
[00:37:40] Like none of us knew how fucked up it was.
[00:37:44] So I'm thankful that I had those days with him.
[00:37:49] Yeah.
[00:37:50] Those like, where I could just, it's still hard for me to walk into that apartment and not have him or go, or go downstairs and sit out front.
[00:37:58] And like, he's not there and I don't understand why, you know?
[00:38:03] Right.
[00:38:04] Like, but, but, but thankfully I was, we had what we had.
[00:38:10] Right.
[00:38:11] Because like, he was just, he would do anything for anybody.
[00:38:18] No questions asked.
[00:38:20] Like, like, like he would meet you once and then you would have a talk with him.
[00:38:24] And then he would be like, just he's now he's got your back forever.
[00:38:28] Like he would, whatever the fuck it was.
[00:38:30] Like he just, he would say the craziest shit.
[00:38:33] Oh fuck.
[00:38:34] And then he would immediately like flip the page and say the nicest, most like, oh my God.
[00:38:38] A hundred percent.
[00:38:39] And you know, and, and the, oh.
[00:38:42] I don't, I don't know another person like Scott.
[00:38:44] There isn't one because there isn't.
[00:38:46] There is not.
[00:38:47] Yeah.
[00:38:47] There's not another Scott Shillamore out there because he was like, he does not have a doppelganger.
[00:38:52] That's for sure.
[00:38:52] Yeah.
[00:38:53] Most of us do.
[00:38:54] And if he does like.
[00:38:57] But yeah, no, I, I, I, first time I met Scott, we were playing a show at the Garrick Hotel
[00:39:06] and you know, Mung was playing and I'm like, oh Mung, like I didn't grow up here.
[00:39:12] And so I didn't know Mung.
[00:39:14] And they're like, oh yeah, this is like, it's basically a legendary fucking punk band,
[00:39:17] you know?
[00:39:18] Yeah.
[00:39:18] And, um, you know, and he was just like, Hey, you know, I'm Scott and you know, met everyone
[00:39:24] and, um, I'm like, cool, cool.
[00:39:27] And then I usually got nervous before a gig.
[00:39:30] So I would always like have a couple of shots of tequila and just like have a couple of
[00:39:34] beers.
[00:39:34] But then like, I couldn't have too much cause I would fuck up my parts, you know?
[00:39:38] And he's like, man, don't worry about it.
[00:39:39] Like nobody knows your songs.
[00:39:41] Nobody will know you fucked up or anything.
[00:39:43] Like, don't worry about it.
[00:39:44] And then, you know, we played, we played the gig and then after that he's like literally
[00:39:49] like, like he paid attention to you playing.
[00:39:53] Yep.
[00:39:53] And he's like, man, you looked so confident up there.
[00:39:55] Like I didn't, you know, I didn't notice any mistakes or whatever, but like, and it's
[00:39:59] like that part that, you know, it goes like, you know, like he would describe like your
[00:40:03] songs.
[00:40:04] I was just like, holy fuck.
[00:40:06] Like he truly listened.
[00:40:08] Like he truly cared.
[00:40:09] Yeah.
[00:40:09] Truly loves music.
[00:40:10] Right.
[00:40:11] Like it was, he was such a caring guy.
[00:40:13] And, and then yeah, followed by a fucking stupid comment or something like, but loved
[00:40:18] it.
[00:40:18] I don't know that I've ever met someone smarter than him.
[00:40:22] Like just his, like, I guess it was because how he looked, you wouldn't expect it, but
[00:40:29] like he just, he would, he just read all day long.
[00:40:33] Just read, just read.
[00:40:34] And then if he, and if he knew about you, he would have a recommendation for a book.
[00:40:39] Like he was recommending books to me.
[00:40:41] He was recommending books for my kids.
[00:40:43] Oh wow.
[00:40:44] Cause he loved that they read.
[00:40:46] Yeah.
[00:40:47] Right.
[00:40:47] And like, right before he passed, he was always saying like, I got books to give to your kids
[00:40:52] cause they'll love it.
[00:40:53] And I got this book that I need to give to you.
[00:40:55] And yeah, man, like it's one of those things where it's like, you have to check in on,
[00:41:03] it's so fucking cliche.
[00:41:05] Check in on your friends for sure.
[00:41:08] And when they're not doing okay, check in on them.
[00:41:11] And when they're doing really okay, check in on them even more because it's like, are
[00:41:18] you saying like, it's like that high before the really low?
[00:41:22] Yeah.
[00:41:22] And just, but I think he also just didn't want to be a burden.
[00:41:27] Right.
[00:41:27] Like he'd been through so much that he didn't want to be like, he didn't want to put his
[00:41:32] shit on other people.
[00:41:33] Yeah.
[00:41:33] He would rather help you out with your shit.
[00:41:35] Yeah.
[00:41:35] I felt like, I still feel bad about how much I leaned on him.
[00:41:40] The day I got fired, I called him and was like, are you at, are you at home?
[00:41:46] And he's like, yep.
[00:41:47] And I was like, perfect.
[00:41:48] I'll meet you on the steps in 10 minutes.
[00:41:49] And we sat there and he just let me like vent and vent and he, you know, and just like,
[00:41:55] Oh, that support.
[00:41:57] Yeah.
[00:41:57] And yeah.
[00:41:58] And yeah, I think, I think everybody was shocked when we heard the news.
[00:42:04] So, um, um, I, I, we don't need to dig in more into that.
[00:42:09] Um, cheers to Scott.
[00:42:10] Yeah.
[00:42:10] Fucking, uh, man.
[00:42:12] Like one of the absolute best fucking people that I've ever known.
[00:42:17] We'll see him in hell with one.
[00:42:18] I was going to say, I only met Scott a handful of times, but fucking beauty.
[00:42:22] Cheers guys.
[00:42:23] Cheers.
[00:42:23] Yep.
[00:42:24] Just a perfect example of don't judge a book by its cover.
[00:42:31] A hundred percent.
[00:42:31] You know?
[00:42:32] A hundred percent.
[00:42:32] And he got that a lot where people would like assume things about him just because
[00:42:36] he, how he was right.
[00:42:38] He was loud.
[00:42:39] He was on a bass.
[00:42:40] He would wear a thong on stage and you know, but like, but then he could talk to you for
[00:42:47] an hour about shit that you don't know about because he was so intellectual.
[00:42:53] Like, so yeah.
[00:42:56] All right.
[00:42:57] So such a beauty.
[00:42:58] We'll move on to, uh, something brighter a little bit.
[00:43:03] Um, so this sauce, this is a jelly, spicy jelly.
[00:43:08] It's like a marmalade.
[00:43:10] I was going to say it looks like a marmalade.
[00:43:11] What's on your face?
[00:43:12] Oh, I was going to lick that.
[00:43:14] Oh fuck.
[00:43:15] That's.
[00:43:15] Oh.
[00:43:16] Yeah.
[00:43:17] Brother.
[00:43:18] No.
[00:43:19] Oh shit.
[00:43:21] Oh, that hit instantly.
[00:43:22] Instantly.
[00:43:23] Right.
[00:43:23] Oh fuck.
[00:43:24] What's in that?
[00:43:25] I have no idea.
[00:43:28] Ghost pepper.
[00:43:33] I tried it instantly.
[00:43:34] Yeah.
[00:43:35] What is that?
[00:43:36] I'm not sure.
[00:43:37] It tastes like ghost pepper.
[00:43:39] I'm not, I'm not a pepper expert.
[00:43:40] You guys might be able to.
[00:43:42] Hoo.
[00:43:43] That's a, but again.
[00:43:44] But it doesn't have the same intensity though as ghost pepper.
[00:43:47] It has the flavor though.
[00:43:48] Yeah.
[00:43:48] Making my nose run.
[00:43:50] It's got a very, very sweet.
[00:43:52] Let me get some paper towels.
[00:43:53] Distinct.
[00:43:54] Mmm.
[00:43:55] I like that though.
[00:43:56] It's gone though.
[00:43:58] Yeah.
[00:43:59] Like it's lingering, but it's, it's, it's gone.
[00:44:01] Hoo.
[00:44:02] That, that can't just be habanero.
[00:44:04] No, that's more, that's, that's more than habs.
[00:44:07] So I got this sauce on Sunday morning because my wife went shopping with my daughter and one
[00:44:15] of our friends and she brought it to me cause her brother made it.
[00:44:20] And we exchanged, uh, cause when I posted my pictures of my sauces, like, Hey, if you
[00:44:25] give me some, give me how do you want to do a swap.
[00:44:28] Yeah.
[00:44:29] Yeah.
[00:44:29] So we swap sauces.
[00:44:31] And, um, I was just, I was just making a breakfast.
[00:44:35] I'm like, Oh fuck.
[00:44:36] Perfect.
[00:44:37] You know, eggs, onions, bacon.
[00:44:40] My God.
[00:44:41] I put it on there.
[00:44:41] I was like, same thing.
[00:44:42] Yeah.
[00:44:42] It just hit like, right.
[00:44:43] I'm like, holy.
[00:44:45] But the, like with the salty, it was so good.
[00:44:50] It's very sweet.
[00:44:50] It's very sweet.
[00:44:51] It's nice.
[00:44:52] So this is, like the heat isn't, isn't growing, but it's lingering.
[00:44:56] It's, it's like tip of my tongue and just around it.
[00:44:59] Like kind of, yeah, it's there, but like, it's not killing me.
[00:45:03] Right.
[00:45:04] You get a little bit of a throat hit, but like, yeah, it tastes like ghosts, but it
[00:45:07] doesn't burn like ghosts.
[00:45:10] And so this sauce actually takes us to my next question.
[00:45:13] I want to talk to you guys about it.
[00:45:15] So this is made by Justin Lamarou, who owns a rainy day, rainy day forge.
[00:45:22] So he's organizing cedar and steel.
[00:45:25] That's what we've been emailing with.
[00:45:26] Oh yeah.
[00:45:27] I know that.
[00:45:28] Yeah.
[00:45:28] So he's, he's doing the cedar and steel this Saturday.
[00:45:31] So by the time this episode comes out, it's already happened.
[00:45:35] Yeah.
[00:45:35] Um, but yeah, I, he, you know, I was like just talking about sauces with him and he's
[00:45:41] like, Oh yeah.
[00:45:42] The intergalactic sauces are going to be at a cedar and steel.
[00:45:45] I'm like, Oh shit.
[00:45:46] Like, so Sunday will be the first time.
[00:45:48] So, uh, I had it, we had him on the V iPod.
[00:45:50] Like the, he came there and, um, yeah, like he's, he's a fantastic bladesmith, but you
[00:45:57] know, he's, um, he's an outdoorsy guy and like, you know, he's all about like, you know,
[00:46:03] It's hot man.
[00:46:03] It's fucking making my tongue all fucked up right now.
[00:46:06] Those ones are hotter.
[00:46:08] Which one?
[00:46:08] The three that we brought.
[00:46:09] Oh yeah.
[00:46:10] Yeah.
[00:46:10] You guys, I'm glad we started with ours.
[00:46:14] We haven't even tried those ones.
[00:46:15] Oh no.
[00:46:15] Okay.
[00:46:16] We haven't even cracked them.
[00:46:18] But yeah.
[00:46:18] So, so you guys like, again, like now for two months, you guys been doing this pretty
[00:46:23] much full time.
[00:46:24] Yeah.
[00:46:25] And, um, I I've seen you guys going to different markets and stuff and like, there's this market
[00:46:30] that's coming up this Saturday and, and like kudos to you guys.
[00:46:34] Like it's how, but how much work goes into like, you know, getting in cause I assume
[00:46:38] you have to buy a table, right?
[00:46:40] You have to invest into these markets to actually be able to promo your own product.
[00:46:46] Yeah.
[00:46:46] And that's a, that's a thing.
[00:46:47] It's like, obviously it depends on what you're doing.
[00:46:49] So with us, with the food products, certification, licensing, all that kind of stuff is important.
[00:46:56] Getting all that stuff done.
[00:46:58] Table fees, that kind of stuff.
[00:47:00] Obviously like we test our own product, all of our product as well.
[00:47:02] So we make sure everything's nice and stable.
[00:47:05] Yeah.
[00:47:06] Like myself.
[00:47:07] But you know what though?
[00:47:08] I think it's much like playing a show, which is what my whole life has been.
[00:47:17] Right?
[00:47:17] Like playing gigs, playing shows, being on stage, touring.
[00:47:22] Pause.
[00:47:23] Can I just say that we know how hot this is, this pepper jelly is because we're all like...
[00:47:28] Yeah, it's a hot, that's hot air.
[00:47:30] I just want to, I don't point that out.
[00:47:31] I'm not cutting it out.
[00:47:33] Little headphone treats for everybody.
[00:47:34] I'm not cutting it out.
[00:47:35] No, don't cut that out.
[00:47:36] Keep, keep the...
[00:47:38] Yeah.
[00:47:39] You know how much editing there would be?
[00:47:41] It's a headphone treat.
[00:47:42] Yeah.
[00:47:43] Between every breath, Josh is like...
[00:47:44] Yeah.
[00:47:48] Yeah.
[00:47:49] It just...
[00:47:49] Fucks me up, man.
[00:47:51] Like...
[00:47:53] For co-owning a hot sauce business, my tolerance has gotten better.
[00:47:56] Mm-hmm.
[00:47:57] But...
[00:47:58] Not much.
[00:47:58] But not a whole lot, but it's whatever, it's fun and I enjoy it.
[00:48:01] Yeah.
[00:48:01] It makes you feel fun and...
[00:48:03] Yeah.
[00:48:04] But markets are like shows.
[00:48:06] Yeah.
[00:48:06] Right?
[00:48:06] That's a chance for Dan and I to get in front of a new audience, right?
[00:48:12] Yeah.
[00:48:12] And we, you know, there are some that we do, or if we do like a, you know, if we do a show
[00:48:17] at the Park Theater or we do like an event that we've been to before, good chance we'll
[00:48:22] know a lot of the people, but we've really just kind of like pushed ourselves into...
[00:48:26] Well, we haven't been doing markets.
[00:48:28] We haven't, like we've done, you know, before this summer, we'd done a couple.
[00:48:33] Mm-hmm.
[00:48:34] And they were very sporadic and they were just...
[00:48:36] Whenever you had time.
[00:48:37] Friends of ours would put them on and we're like, yeah, whatever.
[00:48:39] Yeah.
[00:48:40] But now we're like getting into the scene and the circuit.
[00:48:44] Yeah.
[00:48:44] And it's just a chance for us to get in front of people and do our spiel and put ourselves
[00:48:50] on display and let people try stuff and talk to them and like find out where they're
[00:48:54] at like, do you like mild?
[00:48:56] Do you like medium?
[00:48:57] Do you like hot?
[00:48:58] Yeah.
[00:48:58] Oh, this isn't for me, but my so-and-so loves really hot.
[00:49:01] Like it's just, it's always fun, right?
[00:49:03] Yeah.
[00:49:03] Because it's like...
[00:49:03] And if you get an opportunity to have Josh and I try and sell you sauces, there's nothing
[00:49:08] more ridiculous than seeing him and I fucking chirp each other and like just...
[00:49:16] Yeah.
[00:49:18] Just be the biggest dummies in the world.
[00:49:20] But at the same time, it's like we love doing it.
[00:49:22] Yeah.
[00:49:22] And it's, like you said, it's a show.
[00:49:25] It shows passion, right?
[00:49:26] Yeah.
[00:49:26] Yeah.
[00:49:27] Like if you're not having fun, why fucking do it?
[00:49:29] Well, exactly.
[00:49:30] Yeah.
[00:49:31] Yeah, for sure.
[00:49:32] Well, it started with tacos, right?
[00:49:35] Yep.
[00:49:36] And sauces and then now it's just sauces.
[00:49:38] And then it came the Cosmic Coyote.
[00:49:42] Which?
[00:49:42] Which you have right there.
[00:49:43] Thank you very much, by the way.
[00:49:45] I really appreciate it.
[00:49:46] I know how much you love that one.
[00:49:47] I'll see if I give the other one to Tim.
[00:49:49] We'll see.
[00:49:50] You know what?
[00:49:51] Give him half of all.
[00:49:52] No.
[00:49:52] You know what?
[00:49:52] This is what I'm gonna do.
[00:49:54] I'm gonna put it away and if he doesn't ask for it, that means he didn't listen to
[00:50:00] this episode and he doesn't get it.
[00:50:02] If he doesn't drink, then he doesn't.
[00:50:05] No, no, no, no.
[00:50:05] I like this.
[00:50:06] This is perfect.
[00:50:07] Because he usually doesn't listen.
[00:50:09] Because when he's here, he knows what happened.
[00:50:11] But if he listens to this episode unprompted and makes it this far, then he's got a bottle.
[00:50:17] That's right.
[00:50:18] If he doesn't...
[00:50:19] If he doesn't ask...
[00:50:20] Tim, the password?
[00:50:21] The password?
[00:50:22] Yeah.
[00:50:23] What's a password?
[00:50:23] I don't know.
[00:50:25] We'll come back to that.
[00:50:27] Think about it.
[00:50:27] We gotta decide on the password.
[00:50:29] Before we end the show, we'll come back.
[00:50:31] The other thing...
[00:50:32] Actually, why don't we try one of the...
[00:50:35] Yeah, where are we gonna start here?
[00:50:37] So, I guess there's a story to go with these ones.
[00:50:39] Okay, yeah, let's do it.
[00:50:40] So, Josh and I were...
[00:50:43] We were in Ottawa in September.
[00:50:46] Wow, you're...
[00:50:46] That's really hitting me.
[00:50:47] It was hot, man.
[00:50:48] It's making my face watered.
[00:50:51] My eyes are leaking!
[00:50:53] What was that from the Grinch?
[00:50:54] Yeah.
[00:50:56] So, we went to Ottawa, and there's a hot sauce expo called Heating Up the Capital.
[00:51:02] Okay.
[00:51:02] Hosted by Heiko Sauces out of Ottawa.
[00:51:05] Yes.
[00:51:06] Bless you, Heiko, and your lovely wife...
[00:51:09] What was his wife's name?
[00:51:11] Ange?
[00:51:12] I think it was Angie.
[00:51:13] I think it was Angie.
[00:51:14] Ange?
[00:51:14] I believe it was Ange.
[00:51:15] I'm gonna fact check that one.
[00:51:17] Yeah.
[00:51:18] Make sure to send me their tax so I can throw it on the screen.
[00:51:21] Oh yeah, yeah.
[00:51:22] Anyways, yeah, they hosted a hot sauce expo and invited a bunch of hot sauce companies
[00:51:26] from Southern Ontario.
[00:51:28] Fourth annual Heating Up the Capital.
[00:51:29] Yep.
[00:51:30] So, Josh and I took it upon ourselves to just go.
[00:51:34] Nice!
[00:51:34] And we just went.
[00:51:35] Yeah.
[00:51:36] Because we wanted to see what it was about.
[00:51:37] We don't get a chance to have these things.
[00:51:39] We don't have one here.
[00:51:41] There's one in Calgary.
[00:51:42] They had their second annual one last year.
[00:51:44] I don't know if there's one this year, but like...
[00:51:46] And so we're like, fuck it.
[00:51:48] Let's just go.
[00:51:49] Yeah.
[00:51:49] Because this is our scene.
[00:51:51] Let's be a part of it.
[00:51:51] I shipped out a bunch of our sauces to my uncle who lives in Ottawa, who I've stayed
[00:51:55] with on tour before.
[00:51:56] So I sent him a message and was like, hey, so...
[00:51:59] And he's ordered from us a bunch.
[00:52:00] So I was like, hey, we're coming to town on tour, but for a sauce, not music.
[00:52:06] Can we crash on your floor?
[00:52:09] And he's like, yep.
[00:52:10] Yeah.
[00:52:11] Nice.
[00:52:12] And we got there.
[00:52:13] Got there and went to the convention and everyone's like, why are...
[00:52:20] Like, you know, we would obviously do our pitch and they're like, why are you here?
[00:52:23] We just came to check it out.
[00:52:24] And they're like, you came all the way from Winnipeg just to hang out for eight hours.
[00:52:29] And we're like, yep.
[00:52:30] Yeah.
[00:52:30] We knew some of the sauce makers.
[00:52:32] Yeah.
[00:52:33] We've been like, you know, talking with them and stuff, but it was more just, let's go
[00:52:36] see what's...
[00:52:37] What everyone else is doing.
[00:52:38] What the other scene, like, let's go...
[00:52:39] Let's go trade some sauces.
[00:52:40] Check shit out.
[00:52:41] Nice.
[00:52:42] Right?
[00:52:42] Like, we know what's up in Manitoba for sauces.
[00:52:45] We know Saskatchewan.
[00:52:47] We're friends with...
[00:52:47] Yeah.
[00:52:49] You know, and then you know...
[00:52:50] But that's like the...
[00:52:51] But is that considered like the next level maybe or...
[00:52:54] Is going out to Ontario?
[00:52:55] It's just a different scene.
[00:52:56] It's just an entirely different scene.
[00:52:57] It's like any music scene too.
[00:52:59] Yeah.
[00:52:59] It's like there's the prairie scene, there's the Pacific scene, and then there's the Ontario
[00:53:03] scene.
[00:53:03] It's the Great Lake Divide, right?
[00:53:05] Yeah.
[00:53:06] And they have, you know, the advantage of Ontario, so there's just...
[00:53:09] Yeah.
[00:53:11] It's just...
[00:53:11] The amount of fresh produce there is insane.
[00:53:13] Well, sure.
[00:53:14] Yeah.
[00:53:14] And also just how many people in cities and how culture...
[00:53:18] Yeah.
[00:53:19] The proximity of...
[00:53:20] You can really expand.
[00:53:22] Everything, GTA and all that stuff, like, it's just way bigger than...
[00:53:26] Did you want a chip?
[00:53:28] No.
[00:53:29] No?
[00:53:29] We're gonna do a spoon?
[00:53:30] Yeah, we're gonna do a...
[00:53:31] Alright, major spoonage.
[00:53:32] Let's go.
[00:53:32] Yeah, I'll keep the chip for the hotter ones.
[00:53:35] Or is that one of the hotter ones?
[00:53:36] This is Habanero.
[00:53:37] Okay.
[00:53:38] Yeah, I'll do the spoon.
[00:53:39] Yeah.
[00:53:40] So, this first one, I guess our first two anyways.
[00:53:44] So, we were doing tradesies with everybody.
[00:53:47] Yeah.
[00:53:47] Why not?
[00:53:48] And we're walking around with a backpack full of sauce and this guy comes up and he's
[00:53:52] like, hey, do you guys like hot sauce?
[00:53:55] I'm like, fuck.
[00:53:57] We're at a hot sauce expo.
[00:53:58] No.
[00:53:59] Yes.
[00:54:00] Do you guys like demos?
[00:54:01] And we're like, do you like samples and demos?
[00:54:04] And so, we traded with this guy, Mike, outside of...
[00:54:09] Oh, I can't remember what town it is.
[00:54:10] Sorry, Mike, if you listen to this.
[00:54:13] It's in between basically Montreal and Toronto.
[00:54:17] Well, it says Mallorytown, Ontario.
[00:54:20] Oh, this is...
[00:54:21] The name's not here.
[00:54:22] It says it right on the...
[00:54:23] And that's why you have him.
[00:54:26] He's the brains of the operation.
[00:54:28] Is that...
[00:54:28] How fucked up is that?
[00:54:30] Mallorytown, Ontario.
[00:54:30] That's okay.
[00:54:33] So, anyways, he's like, let's trade sauce.
[00:54:36] We're like, fuck yeah, let's do it.
[00:54:37] So, he's like, yeah, I'm just, you know, I haven't started up really.
[00:54:40] I'm just getting it going.
[00:54:41] Yeah.
[00:54:42] Try this out.
[00:54:42] Giving my samples to everyone.
[00:54:43] So, we traded with him.
[00:54:45] Yeah, spicy riffs out of Mallory, Ontario.
[00:54:48] Mallorytown.
[00:54:49] Mallorytown.
[00:54:50] It says it right there.
[00:54:51] Oh, I can't read.
[00:54:52] Oh, that's right.
[00:54:53] Anyways.
[00:54:55] This lit up a couple buddies of ours that we showed up at their table and apparently
[00:54:59] they had tasted these ones and got lit right the fuck up.
[00:55:03] Mm-hmm.
[00:55:04] Can I get a whiff of that?
[00:55:05] Yeah, you're gonna want to whiff of that.
[00:55:07] Who was it that got lit up with that?
[00:55:09] That was...
[00:55:10] Do you remember?
[00:55:11] It smells meaty.
[00:55:13] Spit and fire?
[00:55:14] Maybe.
[00:55:14] Was it spit and fire?
[00:55:15] Yeah.
[00:55:16] I don't know how to take...
[00:55:17] I want to take this dab around.
[00:55:18] It was really good.
[00:55:19] Yeah, so just this habanero.
[00:55:26] We're all breathing so good.
[00:55:33] Cheers.
[00:55:34] Cheers.
[00:55:34] Cheers.
[00:55:38] Oh, I like that flavor a lot.
[00:55:39] Oh.
[00:55:42] Oh, there's the...
[00:55:43] Oh, it's a slow.
[00:55:47] I like that flavor a lot.
[00:55:49] I think it's kind of masked from the one from before.
[00:55:52] It's really...
[00:55:55] Mm.
[00:55:56] That is...
[00:55:57] Very nice.
[00:55:58] That is yummy.
[00:55:59] Yeah.
[00:55:59] That's yummy?
[00:56:00] Yeah.
[00:56:00] The heat's not really there.
[00:56:01] No.
[00:56:02] But I think it's...
[00:56:03] The flavor's very good.
[00:56:04] The flavor's really nice.
[00:56:04] Like that one I can...
[00:56:05] That one I'd put on anything.
[00:56:07] Oh, 100%.
[00:56:08] Yeah, that's a sandwich sauce for sure.
[00:56:09] Yeah, that one's really nice.
[00:56:11] And like, that's like a perfect habanero.
[00:56:12] A little bit of heat.
[00:56:13] Yeah, I didn't get much heat from it, but...
[00:56:14] I got a little bit coming up on the front end, but I think it kind of got dulled in from
[00:56:18] the jelly.
[00:56:19] Yeah, yeah.
[00:56:20] But that flavor's really nice.
[00:56:22] Mm-hmm.
[00:56:23] Hell yeah.
[00:56:23] But we got two of those from my spicy riffs, so...
[00:56:26] Beautiful, yeah.
[00:56:27] Nice, yeah.
[00:56:27] That was really nice.
[00:56:29] Okay, so going forward, any big plans?
[00:56:34] Holy...
[00:56:34] Bring it.
[00:56:35] We're gonna be out in...
[00:56:39] What?
[00:56:40] Saskatoon or what?
[00:56:40] Oh, yeah, you can talk about this.
[00:56:42] Yeah, we're gonna be out in...
[00:56:43] We got nothing secret going on right now.
[00:56:46] We're gonna be out in Saskatoon and Regina at the end of this month, 29th and 30th,
[00:56:50] for the Sask Movember Hot Ones.
[00:56:54] Mm-hmm.
[00:56:55] So...
[00:56:56] Bunch of local hot sauce makers out that way, and us, doing a...
[00:57:03] Basically a wing competition.
[00:57:05] A wing competition.
[00:57:05] Raising money for men's mental health and prostate cancer.
[00:57:07] Nice.
[00:57:08] Wonderful.
[00:57:08] Yeah, and...
[00:57:09] Are you guys shaving your beards and growing a mustache?
[00:57:12] No.
[00:57:15] No.
[00:57:15] No, I...
[00:57:16] I don't think so.
[00:57:18] Come on, you're going for a Movember.
[00:57:21] Okay, no, one thing I've accepted, there's a lot of guys who look good with mustaches.
[00:57:26] There's a lot of guys who look great.
[00:57:27] There's a lot that don't.
[00:57:30] They look great.
[00:57:30] I'm one of the guys that doesn't.
[00:57:31] You ever seen a chin that big?
[00:57:33] Yeah.
[00:57:33] It's not that pretty.
[00:57:35] No, I have a weak chin.
[00:57:38] So, I look like a cop.
[00:57:41] And I don't want to look like a cop.
[00:57:43] Like the porn cop?
[00:57:45] Like, I just look like a shitty cop.
[00:57:48] I would pay money to see you guys with mustaches maybe next year.
[00:57:53] Maybe next year, you know.
[00:57:54] I've seen him without a beard.
[00:57:55] He just looks like a five-year-old.
[00:57:57] Yeah.
[00:57:58] I look awful.
[00:58:01] I...
[00:58:02] It's...
[00:58:02] I can't.
[00:58:03] I mean, have you seen my picture?
[00:58:05] I bet you we look the same.
[00:58:07] Oh, it's...
[00:58:07] I bet you we look the same.
[00:58:09] I looked like the creepy...
[00:58:10] It was a creepy mugshot basically.
[00:58:12] And it was dirty.
[00:58:13] That was like a pet frog.
[00:58:14] 100%.
[00:58:15] It was just the dirtiest thing.
[00:58:17] So, I always say like I do it for the right amount of money, you know.
[00:58:21] Yeah, I think that's a thing maybe for next year we'll do.
[00:58:24] But I need to have like a start and then, okay, there's already a good chunk in there.
[00:58:28] Then, cause like when you shave it and then only like 10 people donate, it's like, well,
[00:58:33] fuck you guys.
[00:58:34] I look stupid for a month for, you know.
[00:58:37] I mean, 100 bucks is 100 bucks too, but like still, you know, like...
[00:58:40] Yeah, maybe I was 20 bucks.
[00:58:41] Maybe we'll talk, maybe we'll think about it for next year, but for this year...
[00:58:44] Yeah.
[00:58:45] So, you guys are going out there and...
[00:58:46] It's our first time being a part of it.
[00:58:47] We donated last year just for like raffle prizes and stuff like that.
[00:58:51] Yeah.
[00:58:52] So, got to be a part of it at least.
[00:58:55] Yeah, that's nice.
[00:58:55] So, this year we're actually going out, we're competing, like taking part in all the wing competition.
[00:59:00] Yeah.
[00:59:01] And like going the full dub-omb and...
[00:59:04] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:59:05] Everything.
[00:59:06] Last dab mile.
[00:59:07] He's not gonna have fun, but whatever.
[00:59:09] I'll be fine.
[00:59:10] I always, like I love watching Hot Ones and I always wanted to try to do it that way,
[00:59:14] you know.
[00:59:16] But...
[00:59:16] Well, yeah, it looks like we're doing it so there's like...
[00:59:19] So, is this something, this is like, it's a catchment, but this is like open for public
[00:59:22] people getting tickets.
[00:59:23] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:59:24] So, you buy tickets and you're automatically enrolled.
[00:59:26] Oh, okay.
[00:59:27] Yeah, so you...
[00:59:27] I think there's still tickets available on Eventbrite.
[00:59:30] Eventbrite through, at Gather Market.
[00:59:33] Okay.
[00:59:33] I don't know when this is gonna be posted.
[00:59:35] It's coming on Monday.
[00:59:37] Oh, alright.
[00:59:38] Yeah.
[00:59:39] Yeah, so if you wanna...
[00:59:40] Yeah, promote all or anything.
[00:59:40] If you're in Saskatchewan, Saskatoon primarily, Regina's already sold out, so awesome.
[00:59:45] Fuck yeah, Regina.
[00:59:46] But it's been going on for four years, so that's not surprising.
[00:59:49] Yeah.
[00:59:49] First time in Saskatoon, it's at Gather Market.
[00:59:52] The sauces that are being featured are from Legion, out of Regina.
[00:59:59] Pueblo, out of Regina.
[01:00:01] Canto, out of Saskatoon.
[01:00:03] Deadly Dan's out of Saskatoon.
[01:00:05] Oh, and there's a couple other, and I can't remember what they are, so forgive me,
[01:00:10] and then us.
[01:00:11] Yeah.
[01:00:11] And then there's Da Bomb and Last Dab.
[01:00:13] Yeah.
[01:00:13] So which sauce are you guys putting in?
[01:00:16] Friendship.
[01:00:17] Friendship, nice.
[01:00:17] Yeah, so we donated two cases of friendship.
[01:00:22] Wonderful.
[01:00:23] See how it competes against Da Bomb and Last Dab.
[01:00:26] Yeah, yeah.
[01:00:27] Because...
[01:00:27] Well, that's got a good kick, and it's got lots of flavor.
[01:00:31] Yeah.
[01:00:32] So I think people would prefer that over Da Bomb, because that one...
[01:00:35] Da Bomb sucks.
[01:00:36] Yeah, Da Bomb sucks.
[01:00:37] It's like...
[01:00:38] I never wanna touch that again.
[01:00:39] Oh God, it's just horrible.
[01:00:42] It's just...
[01:00:42] Yeah.
[01:00:43] Okay, so that's good.
[01:00:45] Um...
[01:00:46] This is something you guys got invited to, or...
[01:00:50] I believe we...
[01:00:51] I messaged them last year about being a part of it, and it was just too late.
[01:00:56] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:00:56] So we just sent them sauces as raffle prizes, but this year, like, they're like, hey, you guys
[01:01:00] wanna be a part of it?
[01:01:01] And we're like, yeah, fuck yeah.
[01:01:02] Yeah, nice.
[01:01:02] Yeah, we definitely wanna be a part of it.
[01:01:04] Like, that's one thing that Josh and I have made it very keen on, especially for us, is
[01:01:08] to be a really big part of charities.
[01:01:11] Yeah.
[01:01:12] I mean...
[01:01:12] Raising funds, and especially for like...
[01:01:15] We both believe highly in support of men's mental health, prostate cancer, stuff like
[01:01:19] that.
[01:01:20] But it's like, we also did...
[01:01:22] Fuck, we've done a couple charities this year.
[01:01:25] Well, we've done like the Humane Society twice.
[01:01:29] Nice.
[01:01:29] We did the...
[01:01:31] Grand Peach was with Kiss FM and Ray.
[01:01:34] Fantastic sauce, by the way, yeah.
[01:01:35] Resource assistance for youth, so we donated $2,000 to them from the proceeds of the sales
[01:01:40] of the sauce, and...
[01:01:43] And the cool thing about...
[01:01:44] Like, they're a non-profit, so they're...
[01:01:47] It's just all in-house.
[01:01:50] Like, all the resources are right there.
[01:01:52] You need socks, they've got you.
[01:01:54] They need...
[01:01:55] You need a shower, you need counseling, you need food, you need a bed.
[01:01:59] You need like, whatever it is, they've got you right there.
[01:02:02] They help you right there, yeah.
[01:02:02] So it was a no-brainer for us to...
[01:02:04] And they've got a kitchen in there that...
[01:02:08] Beautiful.
[01:02:08] Folks who have come through that program have worked in and now have become like paid...
[01:02:13] Yeah.
[01:02:14] You know, and we've had people come up to us at events where they've seen that sauce
[01:02:18] and said, this is awesome because I went through that program and now I'm working and I'm working
[01:02:25] because I'm...
[01:02:26] You know, so...
[01:02:27] That one we did a cancer care...
[01:02:32] Breast cancer fundraiser, like sweating for like...
[01:02:35] Sweating for a cause.
[01:02:36] Sweating for a cause.
[01:02:37] Oh, nice.
[01:02:38] So...
[01:02:39] Yeah, I sent him to an exercise thing.
[01:02:41] No, it was great.
[01:02:41] My...
[01:02:41] I had my kids with me and my oldest got like...
[01:02:44] She was like, Dad, can I go do the exercise stuff with everybody?
[01:02:48] And I was like, yep, get in there.
[01:02:49] And she went and had the best time so...
[01:02:51] I told you she would.
[01:02:52] Yeah.
[01:02:52] That's awesome.
[01:02:53] So...
[01:02:55] If we can make even just a small...
[01:02:57] Yeah.
[01:02:59] A hot...
[01:02:59] Oh, this is gonna be nice.
[01:03:02] Anyway, sorry, sorry.
[01:03:03] No, that's amazing that you guys are getting involved because like you guys wanna grow your
[01:03:09] business to...
[01:03:11] Obviously, you're in it for making money and making great products so it gets out there,
[01:03:17] but if we can help along the way to grow other people, why not?
[01:03:23] Yeah.
[01:03:24] That's why I love being a part of this podcast.
[01:03:25] Yeah.
[01:03:26] Like, being on this podcast is...
[01:03:27] It makes me feel so good.
[01:03:29] Oh, I love that.
[01:03:29] Thanks.
[01:03:30] Like, just being able to chat...
[01:03:31] Makes me feel great.
[01:03:32] And just like, you know, maybe there's someone else who feels that same story.
[01:03:35] Maybe you're like...
[01:03:35] Exactly.
[01:03:36] It's all about like, you know, growing together.
[01:03:38] It's very easy to feel completely alone.
[01:03:41] Oh.
[01:03:41] Very easy for me to feel like I'm the only one who's single dad, who's gotta work...
[01:03:47] Somebody can tell you you're not alone and you're still feeling alone.
[01:03:50] Yeah.
[01:03:50] And I work way too much and I'm burnt out and I'm always working and my kids like...
[01:03:55] Yeah.
[01:03:55] You know, I wish I had more time just to like sit and just, you know, but the reality is
[01:04:02] that I don't because...
[01:04:05] I know you'll...
[01:04:06] Anytime you can spend time with your kids, you'll do it, right?
[01:04:10] Yeah.
[01:04:11] It's super hard when you're so busy with the business and I feel horrible sometimes.
[01:04:15] Well, it just was life.
[01:04:17] Like, get off work, drive through rush hour, race to pick them up from school and then I
[01:04:22] gotta race home and I gotta get them both fed and make their lunches and then get the
[01:04:26] oldest to gymnastics and we gotta leave and then drop her off and then come back and then
[01:04:30] go back and pick her up and then get home and then have snack and then bedtime and teeth
[01:04:34] and hair like...
[01:04:35] Yeah.
[01:04:35] And meanwhile, you were sending emails and...
[01:04:37] Meanwhile, I'm still having to like...
[01:04:39] Yeah.
[01:04:39] My brain is still also like unable to just completely shut off.
[01:04:44] Yeah.
[01:04:44] And then by the time they're in bed and it's 930 and I'm like, I guess I can eat dinner
[01:04:50] now.
[01:04:51] Oh, right.
[01:04:51] And then I can like relax for a second.
[01:04:53] And then there's 40 messages from me being like, you need to answer this person.
[01:04:56] Yeah.
[01:04:56] Yeah.
[01:04:57] Tommy needs to know what the fuck's going on.
[01:04:59] Tommy needs to know.
[01:05:00] Why haven't you answered Tommy?
[01:05:01] Are you fucking kidding me?
[01:05:02] Yeah.
[01:05:02] Yeah.
[01:05:04] And that's just how it is.
[01:05:06] Yeah.
[01:05:06] No, and I get it.
[01:05:07] Yeah.
[01:05:07] I'm a place of love.
[01:05:08] No, I know, but it's very easy to feel like I must be a shit dad because I'm busy
[01:05:14] and I'm just...
[01:05:17] Like I don't have all the time and all the attention and the weekends are crazy because
[01:05:21] now we've got to go and grocery shop and run errands and I'm like, sorry kids, there's
[01:05:27] no other fucking time.
[01:05:28] My son was like drumming today, this afternoon and like I was...
[01:05:32] I had to send out a couple emails when I got home and just working on some shit.
[01:05:36] And like he comes down, comes home from school.
[01:05:38] I was like, okay, get your drumming down, get your whatever he has to do.
[01:05:41] And so he's, he's back there and then just, you know, he comes like, Hey, cause I have
[01:05:46] a map there with pins.
[01:05:47] And he's like, Hey dad, uh, how come you didn't put a pin here?
[01:05:51] But like we have a pin here.
[01:05:52] I'm like, Oh, I don't know when we went there, blah, blah, blah.
[01:05:55] And then, and he, Oh, what about this one?
[01:05:58] I'm like, dude, I love you.
[01:06:00] I'm sorry.
[01:06:00] I need to focus on this email cause I'm in the middle.
[01:06:03] And he doesn't know.
[01:06:04] He didn't know that I was in the middle of an important email, you know?
[01:06:07] Yeah.
[01:06:08] But like, I was like, I'm so sorry.
[01:06:09] I felt shitty after.
[01:06:11] Well, and what's so hard is, okay.
[01:06:12] There's a whole bunch of things here that I line up with you on.
[01:06:15] Toastmasters I did for three years.
[01:06:16] The only reason that I had to like kind of step off from it was that I, we met on Thursdays
[01:06:24] and then we, but we had markets on Thursdays that ended at six 30.
[01:06:29] So by the time we're packed up and loaded out and loaded back into the office and, and then,
[01:06:35] but Toastmasters starts at seven.
[01:06:37] So like, I, I was like, I just, I can't commit to do both.
[01:06:44] And they understood that, but I got so much, so much from those three years about like, well,
[01:06:50] we do it on Wednesdays if you want to do it.
[01:06:52] Yeah.
[01:06:52] And that's interesting.
[01:06:53] Yeah.
[01:06:53] Okay.
[01:06:53] We'll talk.
[01:06:55] And then I've got a globe with pins on it, all the places I've been in the kids.
[01:06:59] Oh, you've been here.
[01:07:00] And like, and I'm like, yeah, it's just, there's so much, but I'm on my phone and I hate that
[01:07:06] when I'm at home with the kids, I'm on my phone because that's where I'm answering all
[01:07:11] of the group chats, all of the emails I'm on, you know, Instagram answering messages
[01:07:17] on the business page.
[01:07:19] So they see that I'm just sitting there on my phone and I'm like working.
[01:07:24] Yeah.
[01:07:24] And, and I'm still like, you know, I'm not just like, yeah, you're not watching YouTube
[01:07:30] videos.
[01:07:30] You're still, you're still involved with, like, I'm still involved with them and I'm
[01:07:34] still present, but I have to be, you have to be on it.
[01:07:38] That's how it is.
[01:07:38] I'm not going into it.
[01:07:40] That is your computer before.
[01:07:41] It used to be an office.
[01:07:42] Yeah, exactly.
[01:07:42] Your parents used to come home and go sit, like my dad would go sit in his office and
[01:07:47] study for his masters and be at a computer at a desk.
[01:07:49] We use the typewriter back in the day.
[01:07:50] You know, cause that's how it was.
[01:07:51] But now I'm like here.
[01:07:53] So I have to, it's a never ending battle to separate yourself from like, this is work.
[01:07:59] Yeah.
[01:08:00] And once I've got you to bed and once business hours are over and I'm done answering the
[01:08:04] things that we need to do because it never, it doesn't stop because if it stops, then.
[01:08:10] Then we stop.
[01:08:11] Then we stop.
[01:08:12] Yeah.
[01:08:12] And then it stops.
[01:08:13] And then all of it is for fucking what?
[01:08:17] Like it's a constant.
[01:08:20] Yeah.
[01:08:21] And I have to balance being a good dad who's present and can turn off my shit for a minute
[01:08:28] to be there with them.
[01:08:29] But it, but the reality is that the shit I'm trying to turn off doesn't turn off because
[01:08:33] there's who like, there's just always all these different.
[01:08:38] I've decided to be a business owner and a startup and bring everyone along with me.
[01:08:44] Right.
[01:08:44] And if you want to come along, fucking eight.
[01:08:47] Yeah.
[01:08:48] And, and it, and, but they don't have the choice.
[01:08:51] They have to come along.
[01:08:52] Yeah.
[01:08:53] Because they're my kids.
[01:08:55] That's right.
[01:08:55] But it's fun for them because I make it fun.
[01:08:57] I'm like, we involved them.
[01:08:59] Dan's fucking dope with my kids.
[01:09:00] Like.
[01:09:01] I put up with them.
[01:09:02] Yeah.
[01:09:02] He's dope with everybody.
[01:09:03] But you know what I mean?
[01:09:04] Like, but now they're, now they're excited to be at markets and excited to like,
[01:09:09] yeah, you get them involved.
[01:09:11] I put them to work.
[01:09:11] They help set up the table and like, I give them a thing and then they do it.
[01:09:14] You pay them though, right?
[01:09:15] Yeah.
[01:09:16] Well they're.
[01:09:17] Here's a bottle of hot sauce.
[01:09:18] That's your payment.
[01:09:19] I hope they enjoy that roof over there.
[01:09:21] Yeah.
[01:09:22] Oh my God.
[01:09:23] Oh fuck.
[01:09:23] We could, we could talk for hours about.
[01:09:25] That sounded way too much like my dad.
[01:09:26] Yeah.
[01:09:26] Yeah.
[01:09:27] Oh yeah.
[01:09:27] Right.
[01:09:28] Yeah.
[01:09:29] I catch myself so many times.
[01:09:31] But we were.
[01:09:33] But it's, we, we have a different, like us as parents,
[01:09:39] now have a different thing than parents before had.
[01:09:43] Yeah.
[01:09:43] Right.
[01:09:43] So like you could just, I could just work a nine to five and be a miserable fuck
[01:09:47] and hate everything and make a paycheck and get by and.
[01:09:51] Yeah.
[01:09:52] And do the whatever and get to an age where I'm like, now I hate that I didn't
[01:09:58] take advantage of my time.
[01:10:02] So like, I'm like, that's why I've gigged so much.
[01:10:05] That's why I've done things to like, make sure that I'm okay sort of upstairs so that
[01:10:10] I'm raising kids that see that if you do.
[01:10:14] If you work hard, it pays off.
[01:10:15] Like my daughter's like in gymnastics and she's obsessed and she, all she does is work
[01:10:20] at it and work at it and work at it.
[01:10:22] Yeah.
[01:10:22] And she sees that I've always done, like I'm, if I, if I were like, I get on a plane
[01:10:30] and go fly for a gig.
[01:10:31] You set your mind to something that you.
[01:10:33] If she's, you know, so maybe it's just, if I can impart anything on them, it's if I'm
[01:10:39] working at what I'm doing and it's paying off in some way.
[01:10:43] Yeah.
[01:10:43] Then you can too.
[01:10:45] Right.
[01:10:46] So, but you're teaching their kids a lesson.
[01:10:48] Yeah.
[01:10:48] A valuable lesson.
[01:10:49] And then the, but the part of the other side of it is that it's like, I just always feel
[01:10:53] like I'm too busy or too preoccupied.
[01:10:58] There's not enough hours or like, am I giving them enough?
[01:11:01] Am I, you know, but I think that they hopefully like we'll see.
[01:11:06] Hey Tommy, among all the episodes we've recorded, you know, there's one common theme and that's
[01:11:12] getting therapy.
[01:11:14] We've talked about it lots.
[01:11:16] Many, many times.
[01:11:17] You had a really tough time making that first phone call.
[01:11:20] I had a tough time making that first phone call.
[01:11:22] I didn't even know if the person I was going to see was the right person, but you got to
[01:11:26] just try.
[01:11:28] Thank goodness.
[01:11:29] We have a sponsor that makes it way easier.
[01:11:31] Now better help has an online platform that allows you to fill out a question.
[01:11:36] They connect you with a therapist and you get to communicate with them however you want.
[01:11:41] And it makes it way less scary to be connected with someone.
[01:11:44] And if you're not into the person you talk to, they'll sign you another one right away.
[01:11:49] I've gotten assigned mine already and I can't wait to use it.
[01:11:52] Like by the time you hear this, I will have had my first session and I'm super pumped to
[01:11:57] talk about it on the show.
[01:11:58] Yeah.
[01:11:58] I'm very excited about it.
[01:11:59] And like, it's very easy to sign up.
[01:12:01] It took us maybe five minutes to sign up and you answer just simply.
[01:12:06] A couple of questions.
[01:12:07] And next thing you know, you got a message that you will be paired up with a therapist.
[01:12:13] And within the same day we got the therapist already and the name and a message from them
[01:12:18] and we were able to communicate with them.
[01:12:20] So it's extremely easy.
[01:12:21] So please go to betterhelp.com.
[01:12:25] Yeah, that's the thing.
[01:12:26] Betterhelp.com slash quiet riot show.
[01:12:29] And you get to also enjoy a 10% off for your first month if you sign up using this link.
[01:12:35] So again, right here, I'm going to be doing it from here.
[01:12:39] Yeah, it's betterhelp.com.
[01:12:41] Am I screwing it up?
[01:12:42] .com slash quiet riot show.
[01:12:46] Yeah, sign up today and you're not going to regret it because I'm already enjoying it.
[01:12:52] Just the fact that we connected with a therapist.
[01:12:54] Me too, man.
[01:12:55] Thank you to BetterHelp for supporting this podcast.
[01:12:59] All right.
[01:13:00] So what I also wanted to touch on a little bit is even though I know, as you guys mentioned,
[01:13:07] you're extremely busy with your business and everything, but what do you guys try to do for your mental health to kind of get through the days and just kind of,
[01:13:22] what do you have to do to push through the pain and the suffering of owning a business?
[01:13:27] I'm trying not to masturbate this much.
[01:13:32] I'm actually being honest.
[01:13:33] No, I'm honestly like I'm trying not to.
[01:13:36] Yeah.
[01:13:37] For me, for like, my thing is gigs.
[01:13:45] Like I need to play drums.
[01:13:49] I need it.
[01:13:52] I've always had it.
[01:13:53] A large portion of my life.
[01:13:55] That was the thing.
[01:13:57] Yeah.
[01:13:57] Right.
[01:13:58] Like four nights a week touring all over the place.
[01:14:03] Like just that was my thing.
[01:14:06] Yeah.
[01:14:07] Now I've got, you know, a weekly gig every other week and I'll take the gigs that I can on the weekends when I can.
[01:14:14] And if I just get enough of those.
[01:14:18] Great.
[01:14:19] Honestly, that is, that's enough.
[01:14:21] Like if I have, if I have that.
[01:14:23] Yeah.
[01:14:24] Then when I'm at home and I have like a, you know, if I sit down to relax and I can just whatever.
[01:14:30] All good.
[01:14:31] Yeah.
[01:14:31] But if I don't have gigs, if I don't, if I don't have, cause I gave up the jam space.
[01:14:36] Just wasn't there enough.
[01:14:37] Yeah.
[01:14:38] Didn't make sense.
[01:14:39] It sucks so bad.
[01:14:41] But right now it's fine.
[01:14:43] But as long as I have gigs, if I can play drums, if I can get in front of people, get on stage with my friends, make some music.
[01:14:50] Yeah.
[01:14:50] Then that is honestly, it's like, it just, it resets everything.
[01:14:55] It just kind of like flushes shit out.
[01:14:58] That's I'm ready for more shit.
[01:15:00] Yeah.
[01:15:01] Then I, then I'm like, all right, cool.
[01:15:03] Now I'm good.
[01:15:03] I can like, yeah.
[01:15:05] Yeah.
[01:15:06] Function.
[01:15:06] If I, if I don't have that, I go fucking crazy.
[01:15:08] Yeah.
[01:15:09] And I feel it and I see it and I, I'll catch myself being like, chill the fuck.
[01:15:16] Like, just my, like my brain will overload because it doesn't have that thing it's always had.
[01:15:20] Yeah.
[01:15:23] You know?
[01:15:23] And I, and I think probably for you, it's the gym, right?
[01:15:26] Like it's that same.
[01:15:27] I mean, I don't look at it right now from these.
[01:15:28] No, but.
[01:15:30] You look great.
[01:15:31] I've seen your pictures.
[01:15:33] That's true.
[01:15:34] But it's, it's.
[01:15:35] I masturbate to them.
[01:15:36] Yeah.
[01:15:37] So one of us is not practicing edging.
[01:15:40] Um, I don't have time for that.
[01:15:44] I gotta get this nut off.
[01:15:46] Fuck it.
[01:15:47] Oh, what a blow.
[01:15:48] Where's dance pro though?
[01:15:51] Yeah.
[01:15:52] Yeah.
[01:15:53] I go to the gym.
[01:15:53] Like, like if I don't go to the gym, like I'm a fucking whiny piece of shit.
[01:15:58] Yeah.
[01:15:59] Like I'm there for like two hours.
[01:16:02] And like, I take my time.
[01:16:03] Is it a daily thing or?
[01:16:04] I'm also working while I'm there.
[01:16:06] Yeah.
[01:16:06] Like, so I'm answering emails and doing all that stuff.
[01:16:09] Like it's not just me like turning off the world.
[01:16:12] Like I'm in between shit.
[01:16:14] I'm doing.
[01:16:14] Yeah.
[01:16:15] Cause you take breaks and yeah.
[01:16:16] Yeah.
[01:16:17] But like, like I go to a gym that's literally empty.
[01:16:20] Yeah.
[01:16:20] I love it.
[01:16:21] Like there's no one around me.
[01:16:23] And then it's like my music.
[01:16:24] Like if I don't have music to listen to.
[01:16:26] And I was just gonna say.
[01:16:27] The world will burn around me.
[01:16:28] Yeah.
[01:16:29] And if I, yeah, a hundred percent.
[01:16:30] If I'm not gigging, then I'm at home with like headphones on and it's whether it's a
[01:16:36] comfort album that I've heard a thousand times or it's a concert video or it's like just
[01:16:43] letting Spotify just like, you know, find something to just disappear the fuck into.
[01:16:51] Yeah.
[01:16:51] Like close everything off.
[01:16:54] That's what helps me through.
[01:16:55] And yeah, well that's what, that's how I go to sleep.
[01:16:59] Oh yeah.
[01:16:59] Right.
[01:17:00] Like, is that still a way to escape?
[01:17:01] I don't know.
[01:17:02] But it's like at that point it's just background noise, right?
[01:17:05] It's just something like, and I read something this week where it was saying, um, one of the
[01:17:10] signs of like low intelligence is, uh, not being able to have silence with yourself.
[01:17:15] And I get that.
[01:17:16] And I do need those times.
[01:17:18] Like everyone needs times where it's just like, and I, I absolutely need every day where
[01:17:24] it's like, and then just quiet, step back.
[01:17:27] Like, no one's bothering me.
[01:17:29] I don't.
[01:17:30] Okay.
[01:17:30] So it's like, it's like the post gig, you know, when you're in the van.
[01:17:34] Yes.
[01:17:35] After the gig, everyone's in the van.
[01:17:37] You're on your way back to the jam space to unload.
[01:17:40] No radio.
[01:17:41] No talking.
[01:17:42] Yeah.
[01:17:42] Maybe, maybe a light murmur about, Hey man, what'd you think about this?
[01:17:45] Yeah.
[01:17:46] Or Hey man, did you see that broad?
[01:17:47] Yeah.
[01:17:48] So one of those, one of those little mild conversations.
[01:17:50] Yeah.
[01:17:50] There needs to be like, just that you're depressing.
[01:17:54] Yeah.
[01:17:54] But I, but I, but I, but I, but me, my brain is wired.
[01:17:57] I'm wired better to relax with an album on.
[01:18:00] Yeah.
[01:18:01] Cause then I, then my brain will truly either learn it because I can't help it or it's just
[01:18:07] enjoying the fact that I know it.
[01:18:09] And it's just, it takes over.
[01:18:10] It's like, it's like cruising altitude autopilot.
[01:18:14] And then I can just shut the fuck off and you know, just for sure.
[01:18:20] Yeah.
[01:18:21] Take that breath.
[01:18:22] You know, driving is one of my favorite things because that is guaranteed.
[01:18:26] And I just, I know, you know it, right?
[01:18:28] You're the most stressed out person ever when you drive.
[01:18:30] I hate driving roads and drivers here in Winfengart.
[01:18:35] Yeah.
[01:18:35] Yeah.
[01:18:35] But I'm trying to, I don't want to go off on that.
[01:18:37] But one of my, one of the things I'm trying to do is not let that shit bother me because
[01:18:41] it's very easy for it to bother me because I'm like, what are you doing?
[01:18:44] You know, you're just like, ah, but if I've got a podcast on or music on and I'm just
[01:18:49] like, that's, that's my, that's my Zen time.
[01:18:53] Yeah.
[01:18:54] For sure.
[01:18:55] Like I always have a podcast on or, or music and at least I'm gonna, at least I'm gonna
[01:19:02] use this time to catch up on some podcasts and stuff.
[01:19:05] So, and I tried to listen to, I really wanted to listen to like podcasts that are like maybe
[01:19:11] motivational podcasts or so I can learn something.
[01:19:14] I don't do that right now because I, I, I, I'm behind on some of the comedy ones.
[01:19:20] And I was like, that's the ones where I can, I don't need to use my brain to think.
[01:19:25] Right.
[01:19:25] Well, you got a Tom Segura.
[01:19:27] So your mom's house.
[01:19:28] Yes.
[01:19:28] Yeah.
[01:19:28] That production.
[01:19:30] This is a cilantro ghost from a spicy riffs.
[01:19:36] We like that.
[01:19:37] That's a good flip.
[01:19:38] Ooh.
[01:19:39] There comes a light.
[01:19:40] Oh, right away.
[01:19:42] That's nice.
[01:19:44] Ooh.
[01:19:44] Could be more cilantro.
[01:19:46] I love cilantro.
[01:19:46] I also like cilantro.
[01:19:48] Um, but yeah, so, um, but like motivation, no, uh, podcasts could be anything that helps
[01:19:55] me get better at business at podcasting at designing and video and anything.
[01:20:01] Right.
[01:20:02] I just don't have the mental capacity to listen to those right now because I, I tried, like
[01:20:08] I, I downloaded a bunch of audio books too.
[01:20:10] Uh, I started listening to his audio book.
[01:20:12] I went to, went through one chapter and then started listening to the second one.
[01:20:17] And I just like, I'm like, I have no idea what I just listened to.
[01:20:19] Yeah.
[01:20:21] Too strong of a whiff or?
[01:20:22] Yeah.
[01:20:23] That's a, I find I get inspiration from podcasts in a really strange way.
[01:20:29] And it doesn't, it almost doesn't matter who the guest is, but I do gravitate towards like
[01:20:36] music ones and comedy ones.
[01:20:39] But it's always like, it's where the, the guests and the hosts are talking in a way that applies
[01:20:46] to me where it's like, you know, I did things really like the guests will be like, I did
[01:20:51] things in a really weird way that wasn't conventional.
[01:20:56] Conventional.
[01:20:57] Conventional.
[01:20:57] It wasn't the norm and, and they just, you know, they, you know, outside of the status
[01:21:03] quo.
[01:21:04] Yeah.
[01:21:04] And it just, it's like reaffirming almost, but it's like, okay, it reassures me that like,
[01:21:10] all right, the, the weird fucked up shit that we're doing with our, with our line of
[01:21:14] work and the, and cause there's no roadmap for how to build a hot sauce business.
[01:21:19] There's no roadmap for how to, there is.
[01:21:25] Well, sure.
[01:21:25] Of course there's people who sell, who sell.
[01:21:28] No, I, what I'm saying is that how someone's done it isn't going to be how we're going to
[01:21:34] do it.
[01:21:34] That's right.
[01:21:35] Yeah.
[01:21:35] Right.
[01:21:36] So there's no like go to school and figure out there's business things you can read.
[01:21:42] There's entrepreneurial things you can read.
[01:21:44] There's like basic stuff, but the way that the two of us work, you got to figure out
[01:21:49] is so just not.
[01:21:52] Well, we treat it like a band.
[01:21:53] Yeah.
[01:21:53] We treat it like a band and we treat it like a business and we, and you have to.
[01:21:57] And I think at first we maybe didn't have like defined roles between the two of us.
[01:22:03] But now I think it's more like we're under, we're starting to understand like, here's your
[01:22:09] strengths.
[01:22:09] Here's my strengths.
[01:22:10] Here's how those work together.
[01:22:13] Here's how we can bounce things off each other.
[01:22:15] We know we can go into a meeting and close on whatever it is because we just know how
[01:22:22] that's going to work.
[01:22:24] And we also know that we can do it independent.
[01:22:27] Like both of us can go to a market and both of us are going to be fine.
[01:22:31] But if we're there together, it's just so much more fucking ridiculous.
[01:22:37] Yeah.
[01:22:38] And just knowing that it's, it's possible to do the impossible if you just fucking do
[01:22:44] it.
[01:22:44] Yeah.
[01:22:45] If you show up and do it.
[01:22:46] Just fucking do it.
[01:22:47] And, and fall down and then pick yourself back up and keep going and have something that
[01:22:54] like seems like it might be working and then it doesn't, but you learn something from it.
[01:22:57] Like, and I feel like, I feel like this is a fucking, where I can say this, like there's
[01:23:03] one thing I always take with me every, every day when I went into kitchens, if you felt
[01:23:09] like you did a good job today, do an even better job tomorrow.
[01:23:13] Yeah.
[01:23:13] Mm hmm.
[01:23:14] And that's, and that's whether or not you failed, succeeded, no matter what it's, it's
[01:23:20] do better, do better.
[01:23:22] Yeah.
[01:23:22] Yeah.
[01:23:22] And we're never satisfied in a negative way either.
[01:23:25] Like, and it's detrimental to both of our mental health that we are never ever satisfied
[01:23:32] or happy.
[01:23:33] Like we could have a very awesome weekend and on the drive home from that weekend, we're
[01:23:38] like, can I talk about the dinner I made yesterday?
[01:23:42] Sure.
[01:23:43] How mad I got.
[01:23:44] Yeah.
[01:23:44] You were upset.
[01:23:45] So I got, I went, should we, should we do a chip first and, uh, and then you talk about
[01:23:50] it with the heat?
[01:23:50] Yes.
[01:23:51] Yeah.
[01:23:51] Yeah.
[01:23:52] Yeah.
[01:23:53] Might as well.
[01:23:53] Let's get a chip for this story for the last, uh, so this, that is so loud.
[01:23:58] Yeah.
[01:24:01] Oh, that was not, but there's a whole bunch of people who were like, yeah.
[01:24:06] Someone was like, so as I, as we were saying, we went to heating up the capital four in Ottawa,
[01:24:17] uh, hosted by Heiko.
[01:24:21] And they gave us, we were part of the VIP.
[01:24:25] Cause we were important.
[01:24:27] And, uh, we spent the money.
[01:24:29] Yeah.
[01:24:29] We bought the tickets, but sure.
[01:24:31] We bought the tickets.
[01:24:32] Uh, it came with, uh, one of their hot sauces made specifically for the event.
[01:24:37] And so, yeah, what is in this?
[01:24:39] I haven't tried this one yet.
[01:24:40] We, I tried it, but I was very, very drunk.
[01:24:43] And so I don't remember.
[01:24:44] I remember being hot.
[01:24:45] We mailed ourselves back 28 sauces.
[01:24:48] Is that correct?
[01:24:49] Something like that.
[01:24:50] All right.
[01:24:50] The ingredients are chili peppers, habanero, white scorpion.
[01:24:56] Oh, that's just the two.
[01:24:57] Just sounds like an eighties.
[01:24:59] White scorpion list, man.
[01:25:01] I would be peppers, scorpions.
[01:25:03] Yeah.
[01:25:03] It was like a cool social we're about to go to.
[01:25:06] Fresh, fresh.
[01:25:07] Okay.
[01:25:07] All these can be.
[01:25:08] Is there midnight lunch?
[01:25:09] No, but fresh apricots in here.
[01:25:12] Man, fresh apricots playing.
[01:25:13] You going?
[01:25:14] Yeah.
[01:25:14] I'm in.
[01:25:16] I love that band.
[01:25:17] Who's opening?
[01:25:19] Fresh apricot.
[01:25:22] And then someone's like, it's pronounced apricot.
[01:25:24] Apricot, yeah.
[01:25:26] Uh, okay.
[01:25:28] I can't even pronounce his name.
[01:25:30] Vidalia?
[01:25:32] Vidalia.
[01:25:33] That's also a band name.
[01:25:34] Yeah.
[01:25:35] Oh my God.
[01:25:36] It's an Italian band.
[01:25:37] Yes.
[01:25:38] Yeah.
[01:25:38] So the chili peppers, white scorpion, fresh apricot, Vidalia.
[01:25:45] This is legitimately a festival bill.
[01:25:51] It's like the bands that you've never heard before, but you know it's going to be great.
[01:25:55] Cider, vinegar, maple syrup, basil, oregano, habanero powder, and Hungarian paprika.
[01:26:02] Oh.
[01:26:02] Nice.
[01:26:03] Anyways, so this is good.
[01:26:04] You're going to have to give me another chip.
[01:26:05] I ate that chip already.
[01:26:08] Whoa.
[01:26:09] Yeah.
[01:26:10] Holy yi.
[01:26:11] You want me to dollop you here?
[01:26:13] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:26:14] That, uh...
[01:26:14] Oh, fuck me.
[01:26:16] I just...
[01:26:17] Yeah, I don't want to...
[01:26:18] I was just breathing that was exciting.
[01:26:20] I don't want to mess my pants here.
[01:26:22] How much do you want?
[01:26:23] Say when.
[01:26:23] Yeah.
[01:26:23] Oh, well.
[01:26:24] Oh, shh.
[01:26:25] Oh, shh.
[01:26:26] Okay, how about I...
[01:26:26] That's good.
[01:26:27] That's fine.
[01:26:27] That might be when.
[01:26:30] Oh.
[01:26:32] Smell it though.
[01:26:34] Oh, that's...
[01:26:35] Yeah, that's going to hurt.
[01:26:36] Yeah.
[01:26:37] It's going to hurt a little bit.
[01:26:39] What was I going to tell a story about?
[01:26:40] Oh, yeah.
[01:26:40] How mad I got about my meal yesterday.
[01:26:41] Oh, yeah.
[01:26:42] Yeah, meal.
[01:26:42] Yeah, my meal.
[01:26:43] Your, uh...
[01:26:44] No key that was just no key.
[01:26:46] I like how you just ruined the whole story.
[01:26:48] I didn't ruin anything.
[01:26:49] You ruined the story.
[01:26:49] No, I didn't.
[01:26:50] What's the story?
[01:26:51] I don't know.
[01:26:51] I missed it, so...
[01:27:05] Um...
[01:27:06] The last chip.
[01:27:06] Yeah, the last chip.
[01:27:12] Hmm.
[01:27:13] Oh, that's really nice.
[01:27:15] It's very nice though.
[01:27:21] I like that maple syrup as a sweetener.
[01:27:24] There was a lot of maple syrup in a lot of the sauces out in Ontario at this event.
[01:27:29] And I guess proximity to Quebec makes sense.
[01:27:30] That's not as bad as I thought it would be.
[01:27:32] No.
[01:27:32] That's not as hot as I thought it was.
[01:27:34] It smells hot.
[01:27:35] It smells hotter.
[01:27:36] Yeah.
[01:27:36] It definitely smells much hotter than it was, yeah.
[01:27:39] But it's really nice.
[01:27:41] Again, that's a nice everyday sauce though.
[01:27:43] To us.
[01:27:45] I, um...
[01:27:47] I like that flavor though.
[01:27:49] I would like to taste more like spices.
[01:27:54] Like a little more salt.
[01:27:56] Mm-hmm.
[01:27:57] And more like you said oregano.
[01:27:58] I was hoping for that flavor.
[01:28:00] Yeah.
[01:28:00] I don't really taste the oregano in there.
[01:28:02] Yeah.
[01:28:03] I get a lot of the maple syrup.
[01:28:04] Yeah.
[01:28:04] The maple comes through a lot.
[01:28:06] It does.
[01:28:07] And same with the actual peppers.
[01:28:09] It's a nice hot, hot sauce.
[01:28:12] Yeah.
[01:28:12] Yeah, it's a good every...
[01:28:13] Ooh, I'm getting under the tongue now.
[01:28:15] Uh, my sides are burning endotipal.
[01:28:18] That's a scorpion.
[01:28:19] Yeah.
[01:28:20] Ooh.
[01:28:21] Anyways, so I go and buy...
[01:28:23] Because, you know, groceries are expensive now.
[01:28:26] Yep.
[01:28:27] I go and buy five items and it's $25.
[01:28:29] Yeah.
[01:28:30] And I go and make...
[01:28:32] That's actually a good deal.
[01:28:34] It's a remarkably good deal.
[01:28:36] The Noki was $5 a package.
[01:28:39] Anyways, I should've just made my own.
[01:28:41] I was like, man.
[01:28:43] Right?
[01:28:44] Um...
[01:28:44] I don't know why.
[01:28:45] Why do you buy Noki?
[01:28:46] Because I was lazy.
[01:28:47] I woke up from a nap and I told my girlfriend I'd make a fucking dinner.
[01:28:50] Oh, there is.
[01:28:51] Yeah, it's there.
[01:28:51] And so I woke up from a nap late.
[01:28:53] It was five o'clock.
[01:28:54] She got home from work already and I was like, ah, fuck.
[01:28:57] So I gotta go to the grocery store.
[01:29:00] Get...
[01:29:01] Yep.
[01:29:03] That one's a slow burn.
[01:29:04] Yeah.
[01:29:05] It's there.
[01:29:06] Gotta get the stuff.
[01:29:06] Whatever.
[01:29:08] Buy the stuff for Caesar salad.
[01:29:09] Buy the fucking whatever.
[01:29:12] I buy chorizo.
[01:29:14] And so I buy this prepackaged Noki.
[01:29:17] I'm like, cool, whatever.
[01:29:18] Yeah, I know how to fucking make Noki as soon as it boils.
[01:29:20] It's ready.
[01:29:21] Great.
[01:29:22] Cool.
[01:29:22] Put on the pot.
[01:29:23] Get everything else ready for dinner.
[01:29:24] Buh, buh, buh.
[01:29:25] Make everything else.
[01:29:26] Water starts to boil.
[01:29:27] Everything else is done.
[01:29:28] I'm like, perfect.
[01:29:29] Put the Noki in.
[01:29:30] As soon as it fucking starts to float.
[01:29:32] Turn it off.
[01:29:34] Throw it into the colander.
[01:29:35] It's mashed potatoes.
[01:29:36] Aww.
[01:29:37] I was so fucking mad.
[01:29:39] I was like, well, I've just...
[01:29:41] Why would I bother?
[01:29:41] Why bother?
[01:29:42] Why bother fucking doing anything?
[01:29:44] Yeah.
[01:29:44] And I was livid.
[01:29:45] I was livid and I realized I was just hangry.
[01:29:49] And so I ate this gnocchi that was...
[01:29:53] That was basically risotto.
[01:29:56] God.
[01:29:57] That's a fucking sloper.
[01:29:58] Yeah.
[01:29:59] Holy fuck.
[01:29:59] It's in the back of my throat for sure.
[01:30:01] Yeah, it's underneath my tongue.
[01:30:02] That's kind of how I felt that time that I accidentally bought gluten-free Kraft Dinner.
[01:30:07] Ugh.
[01:30:08] And when I was making it...
[01:30:10] Wow, I love gluten.
[01:30:10] And I put it into the pot.
[01:30:12] And you know how you expect noodles, even in shit Kraft Dinner noodles, which are delightful.
[01:30:17] Yeah.
[01:30:17] You need them to like...
[01:30:19] Expand.
[01:30:19] You know?
[01:30:20] And this just was not...
[01:30:21] This was just not doing that.
[01:30:23] And I was like, what's wrong with...
[01:30:24] I boiled pasta before what's happening.
[01:30:29] Why is this...
[01:30:29] Did you know that it was gluten-free or...
[01:30:30] I did not know that.
[01:30:31] Oh, okay.
[01:30:31] No, I did not know that.
[01:30:32] Yeah, I don't know what happened to mine.
[01:30:33] And I'm like, what's happening here?
[01:30:35] Why is this...
[01:30:35] How am I...
[01:30:37] And I'm hangry.
[01:30:38] And I'm like, how am I failing at boiling...
[01:30:41] Yeah, I was so mad yesterday.
[01:30:42] I don't know how to do this.
[01:30:43] How am I not...
[01:30:43] I was so mad.
[01:30:45] And then I got the box to see if maybe it was expired.
[01:30:49] And then it said gluten-free and I was like...
[01:30:52] They're done.
[01:30:53] They've been done 10 minutes ago.
[01:30:54] They were done before they went into the water.
[01:30:57] Yeah.
[01:30:57] Because they should have gone into the garbage.
[01:30:58] Yeah.
[01:30:59] So I...
[01:31:00] So he added a step before it went into the garbage.
[01:31:02] So I finished it and then I had two bites and I was like, I just can't.
[01:31:06] That was like Ron Swanson, right?
[01:31:09] Oh, would you like to try a vegan bacon?
[01:31:11] Yeah.
[01:31:12] Garbage.
[01:31:13] Yeah.
[01:31:13] I'll have another one.
[01:31:16] It's like, look, I'm not...
[01:31:19] I don't want to be healthy.
[01:31:20] I'm eating Kraft dinner.
[01:31:21] Yeah.
[01:31:21] I just need this to taste.
[01:31:22] I got so frustrated at something that I know how to fucking do that just failed on
[01:31:27] me.
[01:31:27] Yeah.
[01:31:27] If you want to eat healthy or eat good quality food, it costs so fucking much.
[01:31:34] Buy the shit, shitty crap.
[01:31:35] Oh yeah.
[01:31:36] Like you can probably go shopping and get, pay 50 bucks, but you're eating shit.
[01:31:41] Yeah.
[01:31:41] I go grocery shopping for the kids for, for like, for lunch and dinner for the, cause
[01:31:47] like we have a schedule that, you know.
[01:31:50] That's what also got me upset yesterday is cause I paid $25 for five items and $6 of
[01:31:58] that was the, was the yoke.
[01:32:00] Yeah.
[01:32:01] I was like, fuck.
[01:32:03] Yeah.
[01:32:03] It's just, it's wildly expensive.
[01:32:05] It's so expensive.
[01:32:06] But I got, but I, you know, again, end of the day I got kids that I need to nourish.
[01:32:11] The other day I went to the store and I was like, I'm just taking a basket.
[01:32:14] And then I bought like, uh, like one item was meat and then cheese and then just fruit
[01:32:23] and veggies.
[01:32:25] $140.
[01:32:25] Yep.
[01:32:26] Go to Lucky.
[01:32:27] Lucky.
[01:32:28] Asian superstore.
[01:32:28] Oh, okay.
[01:32:29] Yeah.
[01:32:30] Yeah.
[01:32:30] They have the cheapest protein.
[01:32:32] But they've got us, they've got us by the fucking balls because it's like no matter
[01:32:34] where I go and I don't have a lot of time.
[01:32:37] Yeah.
[01:32:37] Like I just don't.
[01:32:38] Like when I eat groceries, I'm on the way from work to picking the kids up.
[01:32:43] And so whatever is on that way is where I gotta go.
[01:32:47] It's like people drive to Costco to get, uh, to get cheap gas.
[01:32:51] And I'm like, no, that's a waste of time.
[01:32:53] Costco.
[01:32:54] This is on the way.
[01:32:54] Costco.
[01:32:55] I do like, Oh, I love Costco.
[01:32:57] Same.
[01:32:58] But that's where I do like my bulk.
[01:33:00] Yeah.
[01:33:00] Like bulk.
[01:33:01] Stock up the freezer.
[01:33:03] Right.
[01:33:03] And, and get to like, can you grab me rotisserie chickens?
[01:33:07] Sure.
[01:33:07] Get the, the, the granola.
[01:33:09] Like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:33:10] The snacks.
[01:33:11] The kids that they're going to eat a lot of.
[01:33:16] But yeah, otherwise it's like I'll stop at food fair or Walmart or wherever.
[01:33:20] Like whatever's on the way.
[01:33:22] Gentlemen.
[01:33:22] Thank you very much.
[01:33:23] Please.
[01:33:24] Uh, that camera, that camera.
[01:33:26] I only have two for you guys, but no, like plug your, plug your, uh, business, plug your
[01:33:31] events that you're doing.
[01:33:32] Uh, Holy heck.
[01:33:34] Give her.
[01:33:34] The events that we're doing, uh, just fucking just follow our Instagram.
[01:33:39] Honestly, there's so many events coming up.
[01:33:41] We have, there's some weekends.

[01:33:57] And then on Sunday we're.
[01:33:58] We're just going to list of cities that we'll be in.
[01:34:02] Altona.

[01:34:04] Morden will be in you.
[01:34:05] Winkler will be in you.
[01:34:07] Selkirk will be in you.

[01:34:17] Lucky girl.
[01:34:17] Lucky girl.

[01:34:23] That's just happened already.
[01:34:25] Oh yeah.
[01:34:26] Yeah.
[01:34:27] Time.
[01:34:28] Yeah.

[01:35:22] The pre-sale is done by the time this airs.
[01:35:24] Yeah.
[01:35:25] That pre-sale ended on the 10th, but regular sale for all you normal people, uh, through intergalactic sauces.com.
[01:35:34] Yeah.
[01:35:34] And or, uh, anytime you can find us at a market.
[01:35:37] Yeah.
[01:35:38] Available November 18th.
[01:35:40] Oh, this is so excited about this.
[01:35:43] I do have a good radio voice.
[01:35:44] Yeah.
[01:35:45] You do.
[01:35:45] Yeah.
[01:35:47] It's been, it's been such a pleasure.
[01:35:50] I love being on this.
[01:35:51] Yeah.
[01:35:51] Thank you guys.
[01:35:52] Uh, we're going to try to get you guys more on more often.
[01:35:55] Um, again, sorry that Tim couldn't make it, but, uh, I'm going to hold it against them.
[01:35:59] Yeah, you should.
[01:36:00] Or I can hold him against me.
[01:36:02] I'll take both.
[01:36:04] Yeah.
[01:36:04] As long as you release him for, you know, a couple more episodes here and there.
[01:36:10] Yeah.
[01:36:10] We'll do.
[01:36:11] I can hold that little bugger.
[01:36:12] We'll have to do another one with him, but it's, it's always such a pleasure.
[01:36:15] Um, I have, do you have one last question?
[01:36:17] Okay.
[01:36:17] Go ahead.
[01:36:18] We got to figure out a password.
[01:36:20] Oh yeah, that's right.
[01:36:21] What's the password?
[01:36:22] Is it password?
[01:36:25] Okay.
[01:36:25] Yeah.
[01:36:26] Yeah.
[01:36:26] Okay.
[01:36:26] Yeah.
[01:36:27] Yeah.
[01:36:27] The password is password, but in a sexy voice.
[01:36:32] Password.
[01:36:33] Yeah.
[01:36:33] Yeah.
[01:36:33] Okay.
[01:36:33] So Tim, you'll have to approach me and walk up to her and just say, password.
[01:36:38] While you're cutting these balls.
[01:36:39] Yeah.
[01:36:40] Wow.
[01:36:41] Wow.
[01:36:42] Just like, last time when you guys were in here, I believe we didn't give you guys a
[01:36:47] present, we didn't give you guys our show mug.
[01:36:52] Mmm.
[01:36:53] And so I have, I have two of them ready for you guys.
[01:36:56] Oh, I don't think we did.
[01:36:58] So, oh fuck yes.
[01:37:00] They work for whiskey and coffee and tea.
[01:37:03] I was going to say, now Josh can have his own mug that he can hold Bogart against his
[01:37:08] kids.
[01:37:09] I'm going to drink all the whiskey out of this.
[01:37:12] It's just, yeah, like a little, a little thank you for you guys.
[01:37:16] This is a dope mug.
[01:37:17] Yeah.
[01:37:17] I love it.
[01:37:18] I love it.
[01:37:18] You guys brought a present as well.
[01:37:19] I have some stickers for you guys.
[01:37:21] I just don't have them ready.
[01:37:23] Yes.
[01:37:23] But, um.
[01:37:24] Yeah, cause I gotta put that one back up where you put it by my area.
[01:37:27] Oh yeah.
[01:37:28] Yeah.
[01:37:28] They literally painted over both of them.
[01:37:30] Did they?
[01:37:31] Shit.
[01:37:32] That's funny.
[01:37:33] I'll give you a few.
[01:37:34] They literally just put black paint and you can kinda see both of them.
[01:37:37] It's so stupid.
[01:37:37] I always have like some in my pocket just cause if I'm going to a show or something
[01:37:41] just slap them all over the place.
[01:37:43] Yeah.
[01:37:43] Um, but again, thank you guys for joining, uh, for the listeners.
[01:37:47] Uh, I hope you enjoyed this long ass episode, but I, I certainly did.
[01:37:52] Do you think it would have been longer if Tim was here or the fact that we're both just
[01:37:55] chatty motherfuckers?
[01:37:56] No, I, I think it would have been exactly what it is.
[01:37:59] Yeah.
[01:37:59] Um, because certain, certain times we do want to wrap things up, but we did have a little
[01:38:06] breaks with the hot sauces too.
[01:38:07] And it's kind of a little promotion for, uh, you guys and just, well, trying new things.
[01:38:13] Right.
