Tim and Tommy are back for Season 3, kicking things off the way they always do, an honest, no-filter check-in. One of them is riding a high he didn't see coming. The other is carrying something heavier than he's ready to put into words yet. Both agree on one thing: if you're feeling it too, you're not the only one.

From there, the conversation moves through the kind of summer most people don't post about. Family visits that hit different than expected, the strange mix of relief and guilt that comes with a major life change, and what it actually takes to protect your own headspace when everyone around you needs something.

They also crack the door open on what's coming this season. ew guests, a few surprises, and a cause close to both of their hearts they can't wait to tell you more about.

This show was never about the numbers. It's for anyone who's ever felt like they were the only one struggling — you're not.

[00:00:00] At 8, I'm gonna have a coffee with my wife and make... my wife... I know, I know. We watched too much more ads. Is it possible to say that, those two words together without sounding like more ads? I know, I know. It's impossible. But... Sorry. Season 4. No! Fuck you, I knew you were gonna do it. I knew you were gonna do that. Sorry, sorry. Season 2. It's our fourth year, but it's season 3.

[00:00:53] Season 4. 3. 4. 3. Okay, well you can title it 3, but... I'm cutting everything you say about season 4. I'm cutting it out. You don't get to do that. I'm gonna sound stupid, because I'm gonna be arguing with myself. Yeah, so go ahead, I guess, but... Well, I'm marking it as season 3, but we can call it season 4 or 5 or 6, 7, whatever. Are the kids still doing that, or are they done with that? Oh god, every time. Every fucking time. Yeah, it's brutal. But... I thought that would die already. I thought I would die already, too.

[00:01:23] Yeah, well, you're slowly dying. Well, yeah. We all are, aren't we? Isn't that... Cheers, everybody. Welcome back. On that note... Yeah. It's been a summer. It's been a summer. It's been... It's been a couple months, yeah. Yeah. It's September long weekend, Labor Day tomorrow. Today the Bombers are playing Saskatchewan. In Saskatchewan, right? Yeah. And then next weekend, the Banjo Bowl. The Banjo Bowl here, yeah. This is the first time I'm not going to the Banjo Bowl.

[00:01:52] How do you feel about that? Okay. Okay. Because... Yeah, you're going out to the lake. Yeah, I'm planning on going fishing for the whole day with... Maybe I should go to the lake next weekend. You should. Absolutely. Bet you I won't. It's good for... I bet you won't either. I should go, and I bet you I won't. Yeah, I know you're kind. But last weekend, you were at the cabin. I was. That was fun. You were, too. I was there, too. Yeah, it was a nice... It was a much-needed weekend, yeah.

[00:02:19] I don't know if nice is the word to use. It was nice. I had a great time. Oh, no. It was super fun. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. We're not going to go into the details. We don't need to share with the world what we did, how we ended up. But it was a good time. Like, overall, I got to... Like, I love cooking, right? Yeah, you took the cooking role on full blow. It was awesome. I know our friend John was kind of just like, you're the best guest because you're just cooking.

[00:02:48] I'm like, I love cooking. Like, I don't have to do anything but cook. Like, this is great. And... Well, what I try to do when we go there, because it's John's cabin. Yeah. Cabin. I don't know what you call it. Cabins? Yeah. But when I go out there and use it, I try... If he's out there, I try and make sure that he doesn't have to do anything. Yeah. Like, he'll take us on the boat or whatever, but like, I try and make sure he doesn't have to do anything.

[00:03:14] Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, and that's the thing. Like, if I can take on the cooking role, I love that because like, I enjoy it. I truly enjoy it. That's like, I'm in an element where I don't have to worry about like, ooh, are they going to like it? Like, you know, with the kids, I have to cook specifically because they might not like certain things. And we know what happens when Rob tries to cook, so like... Yeah, like burn the cabin down. Yeah. We don't let him touch anything. He shouldn't. Mind you, he slept most of the weekend. When we do, it goes bad. Yeah.

[00:03:42] He did sleep... He did the same last year. Yeah. So, like I've... We're on year two now of this same weekend doing this. Thank you for inviting me. I really appreciate it. Oh man, it was awesome. I loved it, yeah. I think we're just going to keep doing that. Yeah. Every year, because I play... Me and John play in a golf tournament that weekend. Yeah. Every year, and so... Last year, like... My buddy Rob... Our buddy Rob and other Rob... Other Rob, yeah. Coxford. Yeah. Piece of shit.

[00:04:12] He couldn't make it this year, and for good reason, but... Yeah. I don't know. We just like partied... He listens to the show. I don't know if it's a good reason. We're not going to get into it. I think it was a good reason. If we're being honest, it was a good reason. You're so nice to him. If we're being... If we're being funny, fuck him. Yeah, exactly. Okay. Honestly, he had a good reason. Yeah, for sure. But, yeah, and we just hung out, and so this year, like, we had more people. Yeah, yeah. And it was fucking awesome. It was really fun. Derek and Crott.

[00:04:42] Yeah, yeah. It was good. The Friday night was a full house, for sure. Oh, yeah. And then slowly, people are dropping off. And shit-faced Danny. Oh, my God. Danny, such as Danny, is one of the neighbors. It was, you know, I just, this was the first time I met him, and we had then hung out the next day as well, and then the third day. Yeah. And then it was just like, it was just so nice. And like... He's such a great dude. And he's telling me after, like, hey, man, anytime you're out here, just come say hi.

[00:05:10] Like, just welcome me with open arms. Like, such a nice guy. Yeah, he's awesome. Yeah, no, it was a great weekend. And so, but yeah, we're back now, and ready to dive into... I don't know. What are we... ...to your emotions? I don't want to... Can we change the format of the show? Season three slash four is not about my feelings. Okay, well, why don't we check in, and let's see how those feelings are. I'm just gonna lie. All season, I'm lying.

[00:05:50] You go first. I go first? Yeah. Man, so... I'm starting to hate this part of the show. Yeah, right now, yeah. I'm like all over the place these days. But overall, I would say I'm an eight. I'm just like... Just killing it. I know you hate it. I don't. I don't. I just... I'm very happy with where I'm at right now, where my life is.

[00:06:20] Personally and professionally, I'm doing very good. There's some struggles with my marriage, a little bit, but that's just for the shit that's been happening for the last eight months now. Yeah. Me working crazy hours while I was still employed. And then, you know, then we went to Europe. Then we came back and like summer daughter had like a surgery. So we're... She's out of the picture with helping, taking care of hers, extra things.

[00:06:49] And we don't really have time to like work on our marriage as much as we want to, or maybe she wants to. True. And so that's just been kind of dragging my number down a little bit. But like personally, like I just thought of it. It's been now almost a month since I quit my job. And... How does it feel? I've had like some... Well, this week was crazy and you know why. But... Oh, yeah.

[00:07:17] But it's been great. Like the fact that I can manage my schedule to accommodate some of my personal things is fucking amazing. Like just... That's what... That's what like... I'm just getting a little taste of like, oh, this is like real. Like this is like... I can actually manage to like still work very hard, but not at eight in the morning. I'm gonna... Yeah.

[00:07:45] At eight, I'm gonna have a coffee with my wife and make... Make... My wife... I know. I know. We watch too much more. Is it possible to say that those two words together without sounding like more? I know. It's impossible. But... Sorry. Just... But it's just nice.

[00:08:06] So I've been able to like spend some time with my wife and my kids to just hang out and like maybe have a half an hour conversation without me thinking about work. And then it's like, okay, now I have to fucking work. So then I'll work for a few hours and then I'll get some shit done and then work for a few hours. And then sometimes like the morning I had to take kids or do shit around the house.

[00:08:31] Then I was like, okay, I'm not gonna do any work because I don't want to interrupt my work every half an hour to an hour. Yeah. But then at one o'clock I'm just gonna like fuck off and I'll work till eight. And my family is understanding that and it's been great. So like just... Good. I just love it. Like it's been good. It's been a very good adjustment so far. It's gonna change now because kids and wife are going back to work and there's different route.

[00:08:59] Now we have their routine that I have to accommodate to my routine. Yeah. The nice thing is like to an extent you're a lot more flexible than you used to be. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like for sure. Yeah, 100%. You probably are busier and have more to do. Way more. Yeah, but you're more flexible. The nice thing is like... You're in charge of your own outcome. You're in charge of your time.

[00:09:25] For example, on the 8th, whatever, the sign up for football is starting and like Adriana said like... It's my wife's birthday. Yes. And I was like, I can't... She said... Adriana said that I can't be there for the sign up or I can't do it online because I have meetings. I'm like, no problem. I got it. Yeah, right. Like I'll put that in my... Like a reminder. Like it starts at this time. So I'll make sure I don't... I'm not working. I don't have a meeting at that time. It's in my calendar.

[00:09:55] And I'm just going to do that. Right? If I had to do it in person, I can do that. I can go and do it. So it's really nice. Yeah. It's weird. It's great. So that's why I'm riding this high that's been good. Like lots of work, but I'm not afraid of work. That's the thing. I was never afraid of hard work. No, you're not. No. I can get down and dirty if I have to. I can get shit done. I can sacrifice sleep. You did this week. Yeah.

[00:10:25] To get shit done. Like I don't mind it. If I know that I can take a break after that, no problem. Yeah. And that's what I did. So like Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday were like hell for me. I was working all night. One night I worked till four. The other night I worked till seven in the morning. That's fine. Then I slept till noon and got up and kept going. But then Friday afternoon at one o'clock, I was like, that's it. I closed my laptop and I didn't do anything. I maybe worked for another half an hour after that.

[00:10:55] And like I should have done some other projects that I have on the list. But I was like, no, you know what? It's okay. Even tomorrow is a day off. Like it's a holiday, but I'm going to work tomorrow on that. And that's it. Like it's fine. Like I'm my own boss. Yeah. And you just get to move in and out of it as you run. Yeah. And like it's up to you. So I'm loving it. If you get lazy and blow it, well, that's. It's up to me. It's up to you. Yeah. So that's why. Yeah. I just like I'm really enjoying this so far.

[00:11:24] And I'm learning a lot of new things. And it makes me feel like I found a new purpose in my life. Like professionally. You know, like, like I have my personal purpose with family and kids. But like at my old job, I was lost. I was like, well, I don't have to do much. It was unionized. And like, I'm thankful for what I've learned with the unions and everything. Like that's great. I'm not disregarding that.

[00:11:50] But I know that I could not move up with hard work. Yeah. In that world. And to me, that's just, that was the not rewarding part of it. Well, and your outcomes were controlled by anything but you. Yeah. Like you had no control over your outcomes. Not at all. And now you've swung to the whole opposite end. Oh, I went, yeah. Yeah. I went from one to the other. There was no middle. You didn't just change jobs.

[00:12:20] Yeah, no, no. A little different. But that's who I am. Yeah. I'm that guy, right? Like I just like to dive in head first and see what happens. And if it works out great. And if it doesn't, then I'll jump into another lake. Yeah, it's fine. Head first. Yeah. It's fine. So, yeah. How about you? I don't know. I'm two. Yeah. Yeah. So, I know like this has been going on for a while.

[00:12:49] Even last season, season two. Three. Season four. Did nobody tell you? I know at one point you said that like you are just not, you lost hope. Like you lost optimism that you're not going to. Like this is as good as it gets. And we had this conversation last week at the cabin a little bit. Yeah. That, you know.

[00:13:16] I didn't realize that conversation would be so upsetting for everyone else. I was fine. I was not upset. Oh, okay. Yeah, I'm good. I get it. But we've talked about this already. True. A little more openly, right? And when you first said it, I didn't say anything. But like it just, I processed it for sure. And so like we kind of talked about like, and you cannot discuss details because it's

[00:13:45] not your story to tell, but it affects you greatly. And so you kind of said that you're apathetic now to things around you. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And you're being pessimistic about most of the things. Yeah. And. At least me. Yeah, yeah. Anything me related. And you just have no optimism of everything, anything getting. I do for like, I do for others. Yeah, yeah. No, for you. Yeah, for you. But for me. Like. Like you're still believing. I'm very optimistic.

[00:14:13] This is as good as it's going to get. I feel very optimistic about you and your path. Yeah, yeah. And you tell me that. I get that. Yeah. Yeah. Just, I don't feel that for my, I no longer feel that for myself anymore. But also like, it's, it's gotta be hard to, um, give other people or give shit about other people when, when you're struggling. And, and. It's kind of easier. Is it? Yeah. Yeah.

[00:14:39] See, like to me, it's like, well, if I'm dealing with my own shit, I have a hard time actually caring about other people's, um. No, for me, it's nice because like, I don't have any hope in my scenario, but it's nice to see my friends have some. Yeah. Like it, uh, that could turn to bitterness at some point, but like, it's, it's not. Yeah. For me, it's not. Yeah. Okay. Like, I don't mind seeing the people I love do well.

[00:15:09] I want them to do well. Yeah. Especially like. No, and that's, that's great. Somebody fucking has to, and it ain't going to be me. So like, it's great. In that sense, it's like, no, I want that. And I, I think that's maybe because. I hate seeing shitty people do well. That bugs me more now than it ever has. Yeah. Like that's hard for me. Yeah. Harder now than it's ever been. Harder to not say anything. Like when I see shit people doing well, it, oh yeah, I'm, I'm like out of patience for that. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah.

[00:15:35] Um, yeah, I guess it's, it's, it's one of those things that like, again, like I've, I've been there where like shit wasn't working out for me. I was just like, fuck, like trying everything here, but what am I doing wrong? And like, yeah, why is, why is that person doing better than I am? And, and maybe, and again, like I'd ever been, I guess with never had that with like close friends. It was more just like, yeah, I guess like not necessarily shitty people, but like, I'm like, well, he's not working any harder than I am.

[00:16:05] And like, yeah. Yeah. So I want my friends to do so great. No, yeah. And that's, that's the good thing to do. Right. I guess like just a good mindset to, to change a little bit. So it doesn't eat you up. Like it helps me, it helps me totally distract from my life. Yeah. Like, which is great because I don't want to be in my life. So like, that's great. Any moment I can have where I don't have to think about it. Fucking awesome. Yeah.

[00:16:33] So you've kind of, you've been a two and a three lately, even like towards the end of the last season. And you kind of said that you're going to, there's a few things that you can do for yourself and like is to sleep better. Yeah. I'm not doing it. So you, you haven't done nothing of that. No. And are you, are you going to try to do that or just like you don't have the energy for it right now? Yeah. I'm not willing. I'm not willing to try.

[00:16:59] What is there that your friends and family could do to bring that number up? Is there something that you. Nothing. No. No. Is there something I can do? No. To bring that number up? No. No. No. Beat a big spoon for you maybe? You had the chance at the cabin. Ah, shit. Well, you were drunk. You don't remember what I did to you. Yeah. Fair. Yeah. Well, um, I hope, I hope that you maybe take some time for yourself to just.

[00:17:30] I mean, like I had fun at the cabin last week and that was nice. And, but like, I hope you find the time to just think about like what you can do to like, you know, get, get your mind a little more into more positivity, I guess. Yeah. I don't know. Like. I'm not there. I know. But. I appreciate the. Yeah. Just. You know, we have. It matters to me that you give a shit. You have friends. Yeah. And you have friends around you that, that care.

[00:17:58] And I know that's, that friendship group we talked about. As you get older, it gets smaller. Yeah. But it gets tighter. It's so much better. And I love that conversation that you and I had with Derek as well. And with a couple other friends. Like, it's great to, I think those conversations need to continue. And I think that's it. That itself is just good to like, let shit out sometimes. Right. Yeah. I agree.

[00:18:51] Thank you. And I'll see you next time. Bye. Welcome back. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. so we're back for uh season three slash four it's just season four i'm gonna do this all

[00:19:18] no you're not eventually you're gonna forget you forget all the time take my heels in on this one do it i'll probably forget um we don't really have an agenda and we never really did have an agenda we try to get guests and i have a big list actually of guests that reached out to us but those will be done uh through zoom yeah what about those bike guys

[00:19:45] bike guys with bike guys the bike guys the guys biking across the country or whatever oh shit yeah so it was uh it was funny um i heard their bikes got stolen again yeah yeah i think twice yeah which is like fucking you know welcome to canada yeah just overall like human pieces of shits are everywhere yeah and like good for them for for gaining enough following that

[00:20:14] people like i think canada here when they they were in winnipeg their bikes got stolen canadian tire actually gave them like seven grand or something and like because they had like which doesn't cover new bikes no it's like maybe one of them well some of the i think they're they're it was worth like 15 grand yeah i believe that yeah i get it like good bikes are freaking expensive because they're light and like they're meant it's crazy actually term yeah yeah or long distance uh travel so i get it

[00:20:41] they're expensive but like i think enough people got together so these guys were uh biking across canada to um raise awareness for mental health yeah men's mental health yeah and uh yeah i don't i'm sorry i don't have their names or why are you sorry because i just brought it up i know i know and that's how this show is i've reached out today you should be sorry yeah sorry

[00:21:07] um i was still in slovakia and i reached out to them because that's when they were here in winnipeg yeah and it was a sunday when i reached out i was going to come back on monday oh sorry i i arrived on monday at like midnight and so when i reached out on sunday they're like oh yeah like we're uh we're we're here we're available uh i'm like uh shit actually i'm in europe i'm across

[00:21:35] the world but i will be back on monday night can are you guys available on tuesday and they're like oh we're leaving tuesday morning like ah shit so i'm definitely gonna get them on uh i really want to talk to them yeah yeah i think we should definitely get them involved in in our podcast uh i follow them through our podcast page they they replied right away like yeah great love it let's do it so they definitely want to do it we'll do them we'll do an episode with dire yeah so yeah

[00:22:03] we were supposed to do one episode with dire and that's another good uh like he started skate for cancer uh he skated across canada like that these are freaking amazing things yeah like how like i i'd love to do that but then i'm like what like that's so much work like i'm not doing it we're too old for that now yes yes you gotta do it when you're young i always looked at it this way when rob uh was

[00:22:29] doing his skates and stuff i was like listen my job is not to go on these skates yeah it's not to do these things but it's to support people that do them yes exactly i i take that very seriously and like oh that's important to me like so these guys biking across like the country like they went through hills and prairies and like everything like even you think biking through prairies should be easy no

[00:22:55] it's like no it's all hard you're biking it like there's it's like it's like in the never-ending road like you just you can't see the end like that's so discouraging it'll be interesting to do we should actually time it'd be fun to do their episode and rob's episode like close together yeah yeah because they both did this like skateboarding across canada and u.s and u.s and australia

[00:23:19] did he finish australia and france he attempted australia he finished it he went back and finished oh he went back and finished okay because he had to stop because of an injury right yeah he got hit by a car um which like now i'm starting to think of it i'm like ah dude like yeah is that your fault right totally was he driving it wasn't but i don't think he can drive himself um i don't even think he has a license of course he doesn't he lives in toronto he doesn't have to he would definitely drive the

[00:23:49] car yeah i know you're you make a valid point um but it'd be it'd be curious to just because part of what i want to talk to both those people about is the journey yeah and then the other part is why like the why is more important but the journey itself is such an interesting story but also i i kind of want to know is there a point on doing these like like what was the outcome of it sure like

[00:24:12] people that actually care and love love like the the cause that they're yeah doing it for uh will love it but like did you actually bring in more people did you raise the that awareness did it actually do what it was supposed to do i would be kind of curious to like so is it worth doing all that work for for maybe 10 percent awareness or did it actually bring it up to like you know a

[00:24:40] significant well and i i won't tell you i'll let rob tell his own story yeah yeah but uh yeah definitely so we have a bunch of bunch of guests lined up i think we're running out of uh local guests to bring in we've got some on the list still but i think it's a hard schedule well we want to yeah and we want to reach wider and we want to like we we want to talk to people who are doing great things as well and like we don't always get access to that and we don't always have the

[00:25:08] opportunity but like we try yeah but um yeah i don't know what season four is going to look like like three right or four um but i think we're planning a very similar format but i think we're going to try and focus more bringing more guests yeah yeah maybe maybe have like per i don't know like

[00:25:32] every every second or third every third episode might be just us yeah but maybe have two guests in between uh just just so you guys don't get tired of our faces all the time i wanted to do a fun episode every cycle yeah maybe maybe we'll do that like every couple months just uh we talked about it like just having like a funny where we can just get to be stupid laugh and be like 15 year old kids again

[00:25:56] you know and like because we we i think you and i are very similar in that like we love doing stupid shit yeah we love we laugh about fights i don't say nearly as much dumb shit on this show as i would like to would like to yeah because it's not appropriate but but i think i would like to create an environment where it is appropriate um but yeah so yeah no it's it's it's been um

[00:26:21] you went to slovakia let's talk about that oh you were gone for a month yeah i hated it i know you did yeah don't leave me for a month that's annoying not till another couple years maybe i'll come next time you should i told you that this time too i know wow yeah well i was gonna go this time yeah yeah just you know let's say fuck everybody else i'm going it's teamy time

[00:26:47] for july i'm going to europe with my second family yeah that's right i mean that's you know some people have three families yeah right families don't know each other but of each other but um no um okay i came in the other day and i was like hello my second family yeah yeah well it's like it's so funny so on monday i went to a show and and uh my buddy just popped in and uh jacob's just you know

[00:27:16] like staring at the tv doesn't even look anywhere else and he's like oh hi tim i'm like nope that's not tim that's my buddy chris oh who's chris you know i like i'm like oh you're such an idiot buddy but he just automatically assumed somebody came with me it's tim yeah um that makes sense though so yeah slovakia was good um it's you know people i hate when when we come back like oh how was

[00:27:40] a trip it's not a vacation it's um it's it's no it has visiting family it has moments it has moments but the whole but it's not a vacation like no for sure not but it sounded like it went better than i mean did we i didn't were we doing the show when you had the bad trip yeah yeah not the bad drug trip the bad trip so like yeah when me and my mom got into no uh man this is very different

[00:28:09] yeah i didn't fight with my mom uh partially it was because also i chose not to point out the obvious yeah and i also chose not to do anything that would set my mom off look at that you're growing up i hated it but also this trip was very disappointing to me because i did not get

[00:28:39] to spend time with my brother as much as i wanted to yeah and that was hurtful that was um i so i had this conversation with john actually he's like you know john's like well you're the nice guy and i'm like yeah i hate that like because like i try to make sure that everyone's okay so like if somebody needs me um i will drop everything and like and and this actually causes some issues

[00:29:08] between me and my wife my wife and i don't i'll try to remember to keep saying that every time but i will if somebody needs me i'm like yep i'm there yeah i'll yeah if i don't get to sleep i'm there you are unbelievable at that i uh you know we had our buddy had an issue had we had to go to the crisis center yeah no problem like um i had to get up in the morning but like yeah we're there

[00:29:37] till four in the morning i don't give a fuck like it's like i'll drop everything no that is that is like one of your unbelievable qualities and i i don't and that's the thing like i i feel like sometimes like i get kind of throwing that in my face a little bit that well you know you don't need to do that for everyone like why are you doing that like just to get like some recognition or

[00:30:06] appraisal i'm like no like i'm just i don't know i just like want to be there for people you're just genuinely kind it's weird i know right no i shouldn't say that it's not common though no not everybody does that but i i love doing that because like if i can if i can make a different just a little bit of difference in someone else's life great i don't need i don't need recognition i

[00:30:30] don't need praise i don't i don't need a fucking plaque i'm just happy that like especially like if somebody goes through a rough time like i've been there and like you've been there for me right and it's just like the fact that i was able to tell you how i'm feeling what i'm going through made me think rethink some of the shitty thoughts that i had right yeah of course and i was like oh okay so

[00:30:55] it's not i'm not i am worthy a little bit like i'm i shouldn't kill myself like you know just these those little things may have may help that other person realize like yeah it's not as bad as as you think it is right yeah and um and so my brother just got a new job so before he was working shift work so i was working two two days like he worked 12 hours day shifts two days and then 12 hour night

[00:31:25] shifts for two days and then four days off so like you know during the week we could hang out and whatever and then this kind of this kind of bothered me because i i expected i guess i expected him to do what i would have done if he had visited me because like you know 9 9 30 he was like oh yawning and i'm tired like during the week because he had to go to get up at six in the morning and i wouldn't be like i get to see my brother once every two years yeah like i don't care if we

[00:31:52] stay up till four in the morning i have to go to work at six like i'll put up with that shit you know like but not everyone is like that everyone's like that and that's the thing i expected from my and i expected my brother to do that maybe once or twice but he he didn't and i guess i was a little bitter about it yeah and then i had to realize that well that's just who he is that's you know he needs

[00:32:19] sleep and i get it i'm not blaming him that for that yeah no like he's fair if he's used to like getting enough sleep then he needs it i get it but then you know sometimes he makes decisions where like oh he'll go let's go hang out and then there's other people there i'm like oh great that was great to see them but like i could not sit down with him and and just have a one-on-one were you like

[00:32:41] were you clear about that or did you just expect it i and i'm not calling you out i'm just like actually asking like yeah did you was that an expectation you had that he didn't understand was the expectation i think i i wouldn't say both so i i've had the expectation of him wanting to do that yeah but also there's a couple times where i was like hey like i told him like let's go out for a beer like you and i you know like just like we can have a beer at your house we can go out to the

[00:33:11] pub but just like like you and i like i want to just sit down and talk and then oh yeah let's do it but then all of a sudden other people came and joined it's also like a small town and like that's hard it's probably harder now you could have just gone to his house like yeah i but then you know his wife is there like it's true yeah yeah we can't like yeah it was it was tough i think privacy is tough in such a small town it is yeah so so again i'm not disappointed i i'm just more like

[00:33:39] i wish i had more time excuse me to be able to sit down with my brother and and just have like uh yeah more one-on-one conversation when we weren't too drunk you know what i mean yeah that's fair like because you did the one night but it was already like you were already fairly well into it towards the end of the after like that was that was one of the nights that we we were supposed to go out for a beer yeah and then um i was out uh at my parents cottage and then we came back and then

[00:34:09] i was like messing hey so are we doing he's like oh yeah let's yeah i'm happy here like i sent me a picture with his buddy that i haven't seen in 20 years which was really nice to see but like oh he's already like you know he's primed uh he's hanging out with his buddy so we we won't get to start the night together we'll we ended up finishing the night together which was okay but there's i'm not gonna get into details but um it rubbed me the wrong way a little bit that like fuck like i really

[00:34:37] wanted to like just go out together sit down you know grab a meal like fuck i would have gone to like the city if we had to do that like yeah it's just like yeah it's it's very hard to and also my my brother and my parents they're not planners they don't yeah okay they make rough plans but not like we started this time we're doing this we're getting well with this and also like you think when someone oh see oh tommy's gonna be here for a month we got lots of time

[00:35:06] and like that goes that blows by so fast so fast and so maybe that happens too like i've had that where like someone comes to visit and it's like oh you're here for weeks yeah and then all of a sudden those weeks are gone yeah it's it goes very it's like oh i wish i would uh or could uh well yeah you fucking didn't like yeah yeah yeah so but i'm not taking away like that's i'm no i agree with you that sucks we sometimes set our expectations that don't work that way yeah of course yeah yeah and

[00:35:36] so and then that's again like it's not it's not just their fault it's it's it's a combination i do that all the time or i used to do that yeah so again i'm not upset it uh it's it's over the years i've i've learned that this is my family is and like it's it's just gonna be this way and that's fine um but yeah overall it was good i got to get to help my mom and dad out quite a

[00:36:05] bit actually so that was good i had nice push from my lovely wife that hey we need to spend more time with them and you know they're getting older and one day one day they won't be around right so it was just kind of nice to just be there help them and yeah afternoons we would like just sit and have a coffee and play some games and just chat awesome yeah so it's great yeah it was good it was uh we and

[00:36:31] we got to also do a couple little trips adriana did a lot more with uh with my kids and my niece because while i was working on the cottage she's just like okay well we're just we're useless here let's go to a like a city pool or whatever um the one thing one thing that i absolutely loved is that

[00:36:53] i got to spend time with my niece my brother's younger daughter she is turning 12 this year and um it was just lovely to have her around and like um just just be an uncle you know yeah and like my brother and my sister are like oh my god like you you spent so much money on her already and i was like who gives a shit like we're not we haven't been here for two years we missed birthdays

[00:37:20] we missed name days we missed all these things like like no no no like i love like my favorite uh payback is seeing her smile laugh having a good time with my kids yeah building a relationship and just like yeah it was great and like so many times my sister was like she would have never done that with us i was like i didn't give her an option yeah i just made her fucking do it like go like zip lining and shit like that like it was awesome yeah so so that was really like i got teary

[00:37:50] uh a couple times that like i just loved that like i got to spend time with her and the highlight of my my trip my older niece had a baby and you know new parent we're laughing at it because like nobody can come close to them and like don't touch her like oh she's she's crying i'm like the kid goes like wow wow like that's not a cry like that's just like hey i'm hungry i want something like

[00:38:18] i was just laughing but so like my parents didn't get to hold her uh some of my niece's friends didn't get told her assuming you just bullied your way into doing it just like little like the last day give me the fucking kid i was like listen i won't get to see this kid for another two years probably i am fucking holding her she's like and i said i washed my hands i washed my arms yeah i put new clothes clean clothes on like i'm holding her give me like 30 seconds and she's like fine so i was like

[00:38:47] yes so we could take photos like she was cute little uh yeah you sent me a picture yeah i was and i was like crying i mean babies all look like aliens to me but uh there she's she's a cute freaking baby and they're sending me updates like once a week nice how she's growing they're doing okay and like everything good yeah yeah like maybe we had to go to the hospital because um just wasn't eating enough and i'm just like man that's a skinny baby that's it like but uh yeah they're doing great so

[00:39:15] so yeah good trip i really had a good time could have been could have had more fun things but it was overall uh i would rate it uh 4.5 out of five stars it's amazing that's awesome yeah i'm happy with it like it was good and the whole family went which is nice like yeah it was nice yeah yeah yeah because you're going in two years but not or as is currently planned not with everybody so in two years my brother

[00:39:44] is turning 50 so i want to yeah i want to be there like and that's that's one of the things like he wouldn't he never came for my 40th and i was like dude i'll fucking pay for your ticket just just fucking come i don't care if you come for a complicated life but yes and so that didn't uh didn't really work out but like i want to do that i if i can i want to be there first 50th birthday it'll be gabby should be in university jacob if i told him i was like if you're doing good in school

[00:40:12] i'll take you out because it's early june yeah so if you get your shit done ahead maybe it talked we'll talk to the teacher and get some assignments earlier and or while you're out there you're gonna be doing some work you know if you have to do but uh that's the plan um and then the year after that is that's when i want you to come in 2029 the juniors uh the men's the men's world juniors right yeah yeah no there's world juniors and then there's world's men's like juniors are okay i don't know

[00:40:42] it's the adults that play okay yeah but yeah it's in 2029 is in slovakia the ihf so definitely going in may then um jacob's coming so so we'll go anywhere with jacob that kid's my fucking favorite so i i think it would be cool to actually like maybe organize like uh maybe get a few people on the trip yeah that'd be fun i think that would be fucking fantastic oh my god derrick will come

[00:41:07] will he for sure he would that's may that's starting his business uh busy months i think he'd still come okay yeah we'll make it happen that guy loves traveling we have three years to prep him yeah that's true i'm going to texas with him in like we'll start conditioning two weeks now um massage him there you talk softly in his ear he'll love that yeah you're going to texas uh in

[00:41:32] couple weeks right uh that's exciting yeah and also very sad that you're not taking money well you could come no i can't no i can't okay my business can't afford it yeah no we're not there yet your business won't pay for me so like not this time no but yeah no i think that's gonna be um what for what you've told me i think that's gonna be really good for you and derrick to go

[00:41:56] together yeah it's so um i'm going for work but so derrick is you've known derrick for since i was 13 yeah okay so you guys 14 i got to meet derrick through you and i love him and i think me and him have a really good relationship we can speak very honestly yeah and i've got i've got to know him through you and and so like i love that you guys are doing this together like i wouldn't want to even

[00:42:23] be there with you guys because no no no because like it's it's also important for you and him to like spend some time together right like yeah it's it's good you can come though if you want to come you can come no i want to is this your way of talking yourself out of wanting to be there okay no you guys need time together you don't need me there uh no no uh you um you you're gonna need

[00:42:46] you need that and uh and so to see yeah yeah exactly and so it's gonna be great for you guys to just again go and hang out and just like not think about and fucking texas is awesome yeah if you're listening to this and you haven't been to texas go i've never been to texas it's so awesome so i'm gonna be tailgating at an nfl game in fucking texas i'll go next year i'll go next

[00:43:11] dude i'm gonna eat so much amazing food all the barbecue just so much like 30 pounds heavier just i already spent all summer gaining weight i'm trying to lose it now yeah that can happen but yeah uh no that's good yeah so you're going to texas uh that's it's it's and again it's like fun before two days of personal and then a week of work but that's fine i don't i'm i like doing that yeah that's fun i you and i went to uh uh some work yeah like a little work not as glamorous

[00:43:40] as texas but it was still pretty good still pretty fun to go on a pontoon ride uh with with some of the some of your uh your clients yeah it was awesome yeah it was great um yeah i think i think uh down the road we might have more trips together we should yeah yeah it was fun it was super fun but that's another thing too like it was just great because we watched borat well 20 minutes of until we fell asleep we paid five dollars for borat that's the best five dollars i've ever spent

[00:44:10] um well i think we can wrap this up yeah that's good yeah first episode back for season three four um yeah like you know just keep like follow us let us know what you thought uh send us a voicemail like i i love i love hearing voicemails when yeah as long as it's not kyle yeah yeah yeah complaining about how we cross our legs or whatever here this one's for you kyle

[00:44:39] kyle if you're listening to this do not leave a voicemail about how we cross our legs or anything else we don't like you um and suggestions like what do you guys want to hear i it's a weird thing to do this show and normally like i heard from somebody at one point like they told me like don't ask don't ask the listeners what they want you to do just do the thing that you do and i'm like no

[00:45:07] i don't think this is that kind of show like i want the people who listen to this i like i get part of that but like if you have guest suggestions if you like i want to hear it still it doesn't mean i'm going to do it but i want to hear it yeah no i like that because it just helps us obviously like i'm not doing this for i mean we're doing this for ourselves sure but i'm also doing it for

[00:45:31] the few people out there that may find something positive out of our show like i i'm not doing this to become famous i i like this we don't do it because of any of those no um and like you know i understand that some podcasts are all about like well it's we got to grow the numbers we got to grow audience no like this is this show is there for people that have struggled in the past and like

[00:45:59] that because that's how i've been i've struggled and i i found these new feelings that i had no idea how to deal with yeah and i'm i'm open about it i'm i'm i'll talk to a fucking stranger hey i'm sad man like i just kind of wanted to kill myself a couple times and it might scare that person away you know but that's who i am i'm very honest about it yeah but some people might need just hearing like hey you're not alone like i'm feeling this way too they might not want to go talk to anybody

[00:46:25] but they might just want to listen that hey it's okay yeah it's okay to feel shitty yeah like we've all been there and even though i'm an eight i have shitty days where i'm just like i get affected by things very fast so i drop to fucking three yeah very fast so we're doing another season of feeling shitty yeah so absolutely here we go uh one thing i want to mention uh november's coming up

[00:46:50] yeah and you have a job to do that you haven't done yet you said you will but i'm gonna keep calling you out on the show and fuck what job you gotta call your buddy because we're doing a comedy show for oh right november okay so it's gonna be uh i better get on that yeah we haven't done a meet up in a long time um and we're gonna do a comedy show in november for movember yep so i'm not shaving

[00:47:16] i'm throwing this out there right now i'm not shaving my beard what no i will listen why let me finish stop being like my wife she never lets me finish my thought i'm not shaving my beard what i'll do is i will shave my mustache i leave the beard that's gonna look so weird i know i'm gonna i'm kind of you're gonna look amish it looks dirty okay now you got me on

[00:47:44] board now so but what i'll do is i will keep my beard and according to the rules if i have a beard and a mustache it's fine as long as the mustache is not connected to the beard yeah it has to be separated with at least a finger i don't love it but fine but it's good i'm gonna look stupid yeah i will so that's okay so i'll do that i still don't love it though but yeah so we're gonna do a

[00:48:10] comedy show locally so if you're uh if you're outside of winnipeg uh feel free to fucking travel to winnipeg and join us yeah but yeah we're gonna do a comedy show to raise money for movember uh raise awareness for men's mental health and prostate cancer and all that um but uh more details to follow as long as soon as this guy does my job yeah does what he has okay i'll do what i have to do he's a
